Ant-Man Update...with a bit of salt

Ant-Man Update...with a bit of salt

Here's a bit of an update regarding the Ant-Man film.

According to IMDB (hence the bit of salt I mentioned), director Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) says that both Hank Pym and Scott Lang will appear in the film. He also states that Ant-Man will appear in the Avengers film. The script is currently in the second stage of writing and it will be Wright's next project once Scott Pilgrim is complete. The site also states that the film will not be an animated film in conjunction with Pixar as once speculated.

ecksmanfan: Two things: 1) I am sorry if this is old news, just wanted to get the info out there. 2) Being that this info is from IMDB, it is hard to take it seriously. I'd like to see him as a part of the Avengers film, but I'd be surprised if it was a major part. Time will tell.

Compared to many people on CBM, I'm a relative newbie to the comic book world. I've just recently (within the last 10 years or so) started reading comics. However, I've been a fan of comic book characters nearly all my life, thanks to cartoons like the X-Men Series and Batman. Been downhill ever since.

I am an avid movie watcher and run my own movie website,(GeekBoyMovieNews) which covers a wide variety of movies, books and television news. There is nothing better to me than to sit back and a enjoy a good movie, or a crappy one for a good laugh.

While you may not see a lot of articles submitted by me, I've been an active user for close to three years here on CBM and I enjoy every minute on here. We have the best online community on the net her at CBM.com.

I've been lucky enough to climb the ranks here at CBM and the almighty Galactus has chosen me to act as one of his Heralds (Jr. Editor). So if you ever need suggestions or help on articles, I am more than happy to help out; you can find me in the CBM chat quite often. I also assist Big G in his "Beat Galactus Quizzes," so if you feel like you have a good question for the next quiz or suggestions on making them work better and more smoothly, feel free to drop me a line.

I look forward to talking and discussing comic books and their movies with all of you on the site!

N okidding I thought this movie was dead. I'm glad to see it's got some life in it. Having Pym in Avengers is def a must anyway in my book it wouldn't be the same Avengers without him or Wasp. I can't wait to watch the Drama unfold with Pym and the others

Sweet! I guess....

I mean I personally think they should go with Giant Man instead because being really huge has a lot more destructive potential and therefore is a better power.

But as long as Pym is in it, then I am satisfied. IMO this is good news as long as it holds water. I will indeed take a few grains of salt with that

I always thought Yellowjacket was his ultimate guise. He can still grow or shrink, he can still comunicate with ants, but he can also fly. Plus, I always loved the costume. I think YJ would be more appealing to the masses.

I think an Ant-Man movie would be novel just because I think they could introduce a lot more comedy into it moreso than other typical superhero fare while still making it exciting without straying from the source too much. Sorta like superheroes meets Honey I Shrunk the Kids.

I hear ya on that dellamorte.. But sadly yeah Ant Man and Atom are nothing alike, and yeah Atom is much cooler.

@ hawksblueyes: Good thought, and I wouldn't mind that, but I doubt that is how they will go. All the buzz has been about Ant Man for like years now.

The main thing is that Pym is just such a classic fixture to the Avengers. It's hard to imagine them without him in some capacity, even if it's only as a Q like techy kind of guy
