Avengers: Doomsday: An Intriguing Change Has Been Made To The Movie's Countdown Clock

Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday countdown has just been updated, and it seems something is coming when the first wave of tickets for the highly anticipated movie goes on sale later today.

Tickets for Avengers: Doomsday are set to go on sale at 9 am ET/6 am PT/2 pm BST, and the live countdown clock, which is ticking down to the movie's December release, has just received an intriguing update.

As you can see in the player below, the minutes and seconds are now highlighted in green, suggesting something is on its way less than 40 minutes from when we're writing this. Interestingly, ominous music can now also be heard, whereas it was previously just the seconds being counted down.

Could Marvel Studios surprise us all with the first full Avengers: Doomsday trailer today?

The studio has a Hall H panel planned for this Sunday at the San Diego Comic-Con. However, it would make sense to launch tickets with a sneak peek, even if it's just hyping a longer version for the weekend (alternatively, those lucky enough to be in San Diego could get some exclusive footage).

It's also possible that the focus today will be on Avengers: Endgame Encore, an extended version of the movie—set for a September 25 release—that's set to feature at least 7 minutes of additional footage tying the 2019 blockbuster to Avengers: Doomsday.

Either way, there's not long to go until we find out, and whatever's on the way has to be better than the last time we were promised a surprise. Who could forget the coffee pop-up, after all?

"Universes collide and the Multiverse Saga begins its final chapter in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday," reads a new synopsis for the movie. "Beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and ultimately face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered. This epic film will lay the foundation for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe."

Check out the Avengers: Doomsday countdown below, and stay tuned to see what happens when we reach 9 am...

I get that in the war room when the premise of this film was probably something spectacular to talk about and the "ooh's and aah's" around the table must've been fun, but the whole multi-universe thing is getting just a bit weird and boring. Why couldn't the FF have gone up in a ship and got their powers in the Avenger's universe and had their whole experience happen there like in the comics? Why can't we have had mutants all this time in the Avenger's universe at the Xavier school and they are just coming out now? It makes no sense. The MCU unfolds this in a way that is complicated and unnecessary and confusing.

Also, great that they have all these characters in the film, but there's quite a few we wanted to see that aren't and unless the writing and storytelling support they 'why's' of this film, it's going to be trash. Just cameo after cameo, and the film will solely serve as a vehicle for just that. Not to mention that having RDJ back is nice along with Steve Rogers, but he's out of uniform the whole film, so that's a downer because they will still try forcing Captain Falcon on us, but I don't get why when we finally get Doctor Doom, again, from another universe and it has to be "Tony Stark" as DD. Why? Wouldn't it have been more impressive to have the actual DD and then maybe have Tony come in as a shock later as another version of DD for a moment that's what we get? This whole film is just coming off like a casserole of disaster and it's not even out of the oven, from concept to what we've read and seen so far (trailers). I really want this film to be good so we could go back to the days of pre-Endgame when the MCU seemed to actually care about us (fans). But, I'm not holding my breath on this one, sadly.

@BadgerThorkin - I think their goal was to create a world or a new mcu where the mutants, f4, and avengers already existed

Vs the one youre describing which is where the f4 just appeared after all this time or somehow mutants had been hiding for decades (despite there being cell phone cameras and drones).

Maybe you didnt like the execution but the idea is sound. They literally bought another universe (fox) and then found an in-universe way to throw all their toys in the same sandbox that jives with the source comic material
I still marvel (no pun intended) at the grand vision but acknowledge it didnt hit the way it could have
