Seeing Avengers: Doomsday on opening weekend could come with a souvenir for Marvel fans who play cards. Regal Cinemas announced at New York Comic Con last week (October 10th) that members of its Regal Crown Club will get an exclusive Magic: The Gathering card of Doctor Doom, King of Latveria when they see the film in Infinity Vision. The giveaway runs through opening weekend in December, only covers Regal locations in the United States, and lasts only while supplies hold out.

Here is the post Regal shared with the first look at the card:

Doom Gets His Own Opening Weekend Collectible

The timing lines up with the biggest MCU release of the year. Robert Downey Jr. returns to the franchise as Victor von Doom in a film that pulls heroes from three different universes together, with Anthony Russo and Joe Russo back in the director's chair. Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, and Ian McKellen are among the many names in the cast, and the movie runs 165 minutes.

The promo window runs from the Thursday previews through the end of opening weekend this December (17th through the 20th), with the film officially opening on Friday (December 18th). To qualify, fans need a Regal Crown Club membership and a ticket for an Infinity Vision showtime, which is the premium large format certification Marvel Studios created for this release. Regal's post sums up the catch in one line, saying the card is "Available at Infinity Vision showtimes, while supplies last." The promo image also labels it a member exclusive and exclusive to Regal Cinemas in the United States, so nothing has been announced for fans in other countries.

New Art For Doom's Commander Card

Artist Jorge Molina painted the new art for the promo. Doom stands in his green hood and armor with three masked, hooded figures behind him, and the card is stamped as a promo with the collector number P 0001. It carries the Marvel Super Heroes branding from Wizards of the Coast and Marvel Studios, since the card itself comes from that set's Commander lineup.

Doctor Doom, King of Latveria was first released this summer as the commander of the Doom Prevails deck, a Villain themed deck that also includes Kang, Loki, Ultron, and Iron Monger. On the table, he is a four mana 3/3 in blue, black, and red. At the beginning of combat on your turn, a Villain you control gains menace and connives, which means you draw a card and discard a card, with a +1/+1 counter on that Villain if the discard was not a land. Whenever you discard land cards, each opponent loses 2 life.

The Regal card is the third version of Doom with this name. The Commander deck printing uses art from Nathaniel Himawan with the flavor text "Kneel before Doom," and Hasbro includes a foil printing with art from Kristina WermoongRey in its $39.99 Marvel Legends Series Doctor Doom 2099 figure. The standard printing sells for only a few dollars, but a theater exclusive tied to one weekend is a different story for collectors.

Marvel And Magic Have Bigger Plans

Wizards used the same convention to reveal Marvel: Darkhold Destiny, its third Marvel set and the first Universes Beyond set built around an original story. The set leans into the mystical side of the Marvel Universe, following Doctor Strange, Thor, Hela, and Dormammu across nearly 30 dimensions, with Magik and Gargantos among the first cards shown. Check out the reveal below:

A brand new character created for the set will get an origin story in a Marvel comic from writers Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly, with the first chapter going digital in February and the print edition arriving the same week as the set next spring (April 9th, 2027). Before then, the Secret Lair Countdown Kit: Marvel's History of Heroes goes on sale early next month (November 2nd) for $199.99, with 30 cards covering moments like the Fantastic Four's cosmic ray origin and Jean Grey becoming the Phoenix. Wizards also teased the Secret Lair x Marvel: Doomsdrop, which puts Doctor Doom front and center ahead of his big screen takeover.

Would a Doom card be enough to get you into an Infinity Vision seat at Regal, or are you seeing Avengers: Doomsday wherever you can get tickets?
