RUMOR: New Details On Doctor Doom's AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Allies; MIDNIGHT SONS Roster Reportedly Revealed

The latest Avengers: Doomsday rumour claims to shed more light on Doctor Doom's mysterious masked allies. We also have a minor update on the likely Midnight Sons roster.

Much has been said about Doctor Doom's allies in Avengers: Doomsday. Depending on who you choose to believe, the villain will be joined by a group of subservient Doom Variants, evil versions of The Avengers, or a fleet of Doombots.

The latest update from Daniel Richtman clears things up a little, as he says that Robert Downey Jr.'s Victor Von Doom will have multiple masked sidekicks in the movie.

They will be both men and women, though the insider is unsure whether they're followers or Variants. There's previously been speculation that, while Doom's followers will initially resemble alternate versions of Downey's character, when their masks are removed, we'll see characters like the Scarlet Witch and perhaps even Tony Stark.

Only time will tell whether that pans out, but this raises some interesting questions about how Doom's story is going to play out in the MCU. The Russo Brothers have suggested that, like Thanos, he'll believe himself to be the hero—or is at least set to pose as one—so there being some big twists and turns in Avengers: Doomsday is a given.

In other MCU news, @MyTimeToShineH has revealed the Midnight Sons roster. Reiterating previous claims that the current plan is for the movie to focus on Blade, Ghost Rider, Moon Knight, Wong, Werewolf by Night, Man-Thing, and Black Knight, the leaker adds that Elsa Bloodstone is also set to appear.

There's been chatter about a Midnight Sons movie being in the works for years now. At this rate, it would make more sense for Mahershala Ali's Daywalker to debut there before appearing in the long-delayed Blade reboot. Still, it's important to remember the project has never been officially announced.

Marvel Studios has failed to take full advantage of the supernatural corner of the MCU since Werewolf by Night's release on Disney+, so that potentially changing in the next Saga is hugely exciting for fans.

You can rewatch each of the Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailers below.

Avengers: Doomsday officially stars Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and Robert Downey Jr. Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Florence Pugh, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, and Lewis Pullman all make their Avengers franchise debuts in the movie.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps leads Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn join them, as do X-Men franchise stars Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, with Deadpool & Wolverine star Channing Tatum.

Chris Evans is officially confirmed to reprise his role as Steve Rogers, as is India Rose Hemsworth as Love and Mabel Cadena as Namora. The Hollywood trades have reported that Hayley Atwell and Ryan Reynolds will appear as Peggy Carter and Deadpool, respectively.

The Russo Brothers direct Avengers: Doomsday from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely, with whom they previously collaborated on the Avengers and Captain America franchises. Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness's Michael Waldron is also working on the script.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18, with Avengers: Secret Wars scheduled to arrive on December 17, 2027.

Mahershala Ali Is going to be well into his 50s if he ever gets the chance to play Blade! As much as I enjoyed the Blade movies back in the day, I really don’t think we need Vampires in the MCU. If anything, I think Blade should exist outside of the 616 universe.

@Joker666 - Hal Jordan and Sinestro are in there 60's and that wasn't because of some egotistical actor who tried to push his way into a franchise, that was a decision made by the main man himself.

Now that the MCU is finishing its 70's Roger Moore era, what the MCU will deliver with the mix of the 80's Roger Moore era and the Timothy Dalton era remains to be seen.

Anti-mutant villains akin to Max Zorin and antiheroes like Blade and Ghost Rider having the edge of Timothy Dalton?

If true then I like that Midnight Sons lineup tbh…

I would have Blade already established this team with the exception of Black Knight who he came to recruit in the Eternals post credits scene since the Ebony Blade is key to the plans of the resurrected Dracula who wants his weapon back in order to conquer the world.

In this way , you can have Dane be the audience’s eyes into that corner of the MCU and those characters imo so hope it happens!!.

It’s funny how people lost their minds thinking Mephisto would be in WandaVision and then he wasn’t. Then everyone freaked out when he was name dropped in Agatha, only for him to not show up again. Now he’s finally introduced in Ironheart (which, honestly, is a hilarious choice) and no one is even talking about him.

He pretty much has to be the villain of Midnight Sons and the cornerstone going forward. Otherwise, what’s the point of demanding characters for years and then not caring once they’re actually here?

@CaptainDC - if I may: I believe part of it is that we’re in a time when the vocal masses will never be satisfied. I believe the other part is that after all the hopes and dreams and prognosticating, Mephisto shows up in a show that a lot of people didn’t watch, a lot of people didn’t like, and didn’t really give the character a chance to be impressive and imposing. If Mephisto comes back, you’re right, he really does need to be the big bad of something interesting.

@CaptainDC - I'd love to see Mephisto as the villain for an Earth-based Silver Surfer film.

After this stint with the Avengers they should go all mutant stories with MCU characters sprinkled in here and there!

If Midnight Sons was "real" it would have been announced way back. Marvel has yet to even confirm it's existence, so to hear scoopers still use that same exact scoop that for years has never been confirmed, is hilarious. Blade isn't even confirmed dead, it's just assumed because of the obvious. I can assume Black Knight is returning, is THAT A SCOOP!?

And MTTSH over here announcing the roster like they didn't say the same shit literally two years ago? Like what!?

If Midnight Sons was really "REAL" I promise you Deadline, THR, & Variety, would have been reported. Especially since they have "writers" on board on this "mystical growing urban legend" of a movie that scoopers like to scam others to believe it's "tangible"

@Irregular - MTTSH throws shit on the wall and hopes anything sticks. It's done over and over again and when something sticks then fans think that's an actual scooper when in reality it nothing more than a pooper scooper.

I really wish this last "phase" of Marvel was centered around the supernatural side and Young Avengers, instead of failed legacy characters and multiverse arcs.

Midnight Sons will never happen. Too weird for most MCU fans. At best is would be a Disney+ show.

@hainesy -
Yeah, it's not going to be a movie.

Most the characters appeared in a Disney+ show nobody watched. None of the cast members for those roles that we are aware of would be able to draw an audience for a movie.

@hainesy - Agreed. They have been bullshitting us and fckin round with the idea of it and Blade for nearly 10years. Sickening

They did not give a single frick to actually develop Doctor Doom or even introduce him prior, yet now we're going to have to pull an Infinity War and try and get people to give a shit about Doctor Doom while dealing with a cast that's twice the size and had zero development. Whichever moron in charge thought they needed Doctor Doom to be part of a group in this film should be fired.

The Midnight Sons roster is everything I would want it to be but let's be realistic, there is probably no script, or actors attached right now. This roster isn't what we'll probably see in the film.

With that said, let's say this roster has truth behind it. I love it. Blade and Ghost Rider have long been overdue to show up in the MCU. I've been wanting to see Jack Russell's Werewolf, Man-Thing and Elsa Bloodstone to return after seeing the Werewolf by Night special. I think it's been a mistake to not utilize Kit Harington more as Dane Whitman/Black Knight. To me, Dane Whitman as a darker Steve Rogers & could have been the heart of the MCU, if he had shown up more in Phase 4 & 5. Moon Knight is cool because this version will be the Jake Lockley version and we'll get some resolution from the Disney+ show.

The question I have is why is Wong in this? Obviously, he's a Doctor Strange surrogate but to me Wong will be morally against the rest of this crew and their tactics in a Midnight Sons film. How does Marvel Studios square Wong in Midnight Sons and also being part of a potential 'Strange Academy' show where he will be an advisor & teacher. To me, Wong's replaceable on this team. Also, having 1 female character amongst 7 male characters is going to become an issue for those who want to make it an issue. Blunt that opinion. Replace Wong with Jennifer Kale. She's a witch and I doubt she'll have the same morality as Wong will have to how other Midnight Sons are behaving. I rather see Wong as a teacher in 'Strange Academy' than debating his morality with other Midnight Sons during the film.

Other than that, looking forward to Midnight Sons, the only way this to be perfect would-be getting Daimon Hellstrom and Santana involved.

Midnight Sons is not going to happen for years. Have lost all hope for it. They have been bullshitting us about about Blade for nearly 10 years. Such a waste of a character everyone has wanted since day 1

Midnight Sons could be really cool but we would need a top notch Director/Writer for it. Perhaps someone like Fede Alvarez or as much as I hate to say it… Del Toro.

If all of Doom's followers are just wearing Doom masks it's a missed opportunity to have the Black Swans.
