Adolescent Groot Will Come Of Age And Find A Mentor In AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR
Some new details have been revealed about what the adolescent version of Groot will be getting up to in Avengers: Infinity War but who will the sentient tree be turning to for advice in the movie?
Vin Diesel will return to voice Groot in Avengers: Infinity War but it's motion-capture performer Terry Notary who will actually play the sentient tree while that movie and Avengers 4 are shooting. In a new interview, he's shed some light on what fans should expect from the beloved character when he returns and it sounds like Adolescent Groot will find a mentor in one of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Which one? That obviously remains to be seen but the fact he's modelling himself after whoever that is is bound to have an impact on how he behaves when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is released!
"Yes, I am playing teenage Groot. I’m having a blast with it. It’s really, really fun. I can’t say too much about him, but he’s coming of age, so you’ll see the teenager find a mentor to look up to and to model himself after. The character’s great, and the films are going to be great. We’ve got such an amazing cast and a great pair of directors at the helm. The Russos allow the actors to jam on scenes together to the point where it just feels great and everybody gets their moments."
Avengers: Infinity War just keeps on sounding more and more amazing and it's good to hear that Groot is getting a proper character arc here, especially as the Guardians aren't expected to have a massive role in proceedings. Who do you think will be Groot's mentor in the movie? Are you excited to see what he and the Guardians get up to here? As always, let us know your thoughts in the usual place.
