Marvel's ultimate clash, The Avengers, has been getting a lot of buzz lately, regarding the additionally cast members, other than Robert Downey as Tony Stark, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Chris Evans as Captain America, and Chris Hemsworth as Thor. News recently broke that actor Kevin Pennington may be tackling the role of Captain Marvel, but has yet to be confirmed.

Now an old casting rumor has rise yet again, coming from Aint It Cool News(Harry Knowles). His possibly solid source says that Jeremy Renner has gone from the Bomb Squad in Iraq to possibly the AVENGERS as the character of HAWKEYE.

Jeremy Renner have previously stated he and The Avengers writer, Zak Penn, had discussed the potential role of Hawkeye for Avengers, but immediately followed that it was just talk, and nothing is official. Like Harry from AICN, take it with a grain of salt, for now.
