Topping the UK box office for the second weekend, The Dark Knight Rises has earned another £7 million (holding off competition from new animated release, The Lorax). This makes Christopher Nolan's third and final Batman movie the fastest grossing film of 2012 on that side of the pond as it made an incredible £30 million in just 10 days. Marvel's The Avengers/Avengers Assemble took 12 days to hit the same total, even with the higher 3D ticket prices. Below is the UK Top Ten in full, courtesy of our friends over at Digital Spy.

The UK box office top ten in full:

1. (1) The Dark Knight Rises - £7,275,558
2. (-) The Lorax - £1,853,294
3. (2) Ice Age 4: Continental Drift - £1,544,322
4. (3) The Amazing Spider-Man - £686,952

A good thing to hear. I enjoyed TDKR and I see that a lot of other people are enjoying it also. The Avengers is a different type of Superhero film, there isn't any reason why we cannot like both types of CBMs. A win all around.
