Just nineteen days after swinging into theaters, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has passed $2 billion at the global box office, breaking several new records in the process.
Brand New Day is the first solo superhero movie to reach this milestone, and has done so faster than any film in history - aside from the mighty Avengers: Endgame. Tom Holland's fourth outing as the wall-crawler is also the highest-grossing comic book movie of the decade, and the highest-grossing Spider-Man movie ever made.
Saturday's numbers aren't in yet, but BND held on to the No. 1 spot at the domestic box office this weekend despite competition from The End of Oak Street and PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie. The Destin Daniel Cretton-directed feature made $19 million domestically on Friday, and is targeting $67 million - a 53% decline from last week - through its third weekend of release.
Brand New Day is expected to pass Endgame's lifetime gross by the end of its theatrical run.

Following the record-breaking success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Brand New Day begins a brand new chapter for Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult and living alone after erasing himself and the memories of him from those he loves. In a New York that no longer knows his name, he has devoted himself wholeheartedly to protecting his city as Spider-Man full-time.
But as the demands on him grow, he is put under increasing pressure. This triggers an unexpected physical change that threatens his existence, while a strange wave of crime emerges - and gives rise to one of the most dangerous threats he has ever faced.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers. The film is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad and Rachel O'Connor. The cast includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo.
