Even more Avengers: Doomsday promo art has been released, offering a much clearer look at the movie's Doombots and the teams that will assemble to battle them and their master, Doctor Doom.
Thanks to HEXFacility.com, we see the Doombots are green robots with red eyes. They look suitably mighty, and as we first pointed out over the weekend, they're not the Victor Von Doom stand-ins typically featured in the comics. Marvel Studios may have decided that pitting the Multiverse's Mightiest Heroes against an army of Doctor Doom lookalikes would have jumped the shark.
Steve Rogers finally receives the spotlight, as does the mix of heroes that will assemble when the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four meet for the first time in the MCU.
These images, while stylised as comic book art, serve as a reminder of just how momentous it is that these characters will all share the screen this December. However, the biggest gripe for fans at this stage is that characters like Captain America, the New Avengers, and Shang-Chi feel a little B-list due to how things have panned out in the Multiverse Saga.
Still, it's hard not to be excited about what's to come from the movie, especially as this Doombot reveal confirms that there's a lot the leaks and rumours haven't revealed. Even so, imagery like this is best taken with a pinch of salt, something Spider-Man: Brand New Day made clear with its different Scorpion design in promo art and merchandise.
After recently confirming that Avengers: Doomsday is currently "a two-and-a-half-hour movie, or so," Anthony Russo revealed, "It's a focused propulsive narrative that has like an organising principle at its centre, and everything has to orbit around that. That's part of the creative challenge for Joe and me – just figuring out how that what that orbit is and how it all smashes together."
"I think people are going to be surprised," the filmmaker added. "It's a very surprising ending. It's a very surprising movie, and that's all we'll say about it."
