As you're no doubt already well aware, social media reactions and reviews coming out of Venice for
Joker were overwhelmingly positive, and the same can be said for the DC Comics adaptation following the movie's debut at the Toronto International Film Festival.
There's a lot of very interesting takes here, and it seems as if the parallels the film makes to what's going on in the real world are definitely problematic to some.
That powerful message aside, though, it definitely sounds like director Todd Phillips and star Joaquin Phoenix are going to take us on one heck of a ride, even if it is extremely dark and messed up. Some clips from
Joker actually leaked online overnight, and if they're anything to go by, Phoenix has to be in with a chance of receiving some serious awards attention next year.
