We already know that Christopher Nolan wont film The Dark Knight Rises in 3D, but he has already confirmed that like with his previous movies The Dark Knight and Inception, the IMAX format would play a role in the next Batman movie. Well, the following piece of information seems to hint that the critically acclaimed director has even bigger plans for it this time round!

Collider's inside sources told them:
I’m hearing that Nolan will try and shoot The Dark Knight Rises totally in IMAX. I’ve heard that IMAX has been quietly developing a smaller, less intrusive camera that will be able to handle dialogue scenes. If the camera is finished in time, expect Nolan to use it.

Inception looked truly amazing up on the big screen in the format. The weight and noise of the cameras have previously restricted what Nolan could do with them, but if the above information is correct, we're in for a visual treat!
The Dark Knight Rises is set to be released on July 20, 2012!
