It's been revealed today that Black Panther has broken yet another record as it is officially the most Tweeted about movie in history. The social media website confirmed that the Marvel Comics adaptation has been Tweeted about more than 35 million times, an incredible feat which puts it ahead of previous record holder, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. For now, The Last Jedi remains in third place.
Over the weekend, Black Panther became the first movie since Avatar to remain at the top of the North American box office for five straight weekends. As of right now, the Ryan Coogler helmed release has grossed more than $607 domestically for a total of $1.2 billion worldwide. That's an amazing result and it's thought that it will pass the global haul of The Avengers at some point in the next week or so.
The majority of these Black Panther Tweets came from the US, while the UK and Thailand weren't far behind. The overwhelmingly positive response to the movie online no doubt helped it at the box office and it's now going to be very interesting seeing how Avengers: Infinity War fares in comparison.
