Batman Comic set to sell for $400,000

In 1992 Robert Irwin was offered $27,000 by a comic store owner for one of his comics. "Maybe this is worth a little something" he thought. Turns out he was right!

Robert Irwin's 1939 "Detective No. 27" which features the first appearance of Batman is expected to sell for $400,000 when the online auction finishes on November 18th.

Not a bad investment when Irwin only paid 10 cents for the comic!

Of the quarter of a million "Detective No. 27" copies that were printed - there is thought to be only 150 still in existence.

As a guide - a copy of "Detective No. 27" sold for $575,000 earlier this year, and a copy in mint condition sold for $1,075,000.

Got a spare £400k? Why not make a bid here.
