In today's world, it's hard for something not to leak. Spoilers about movies get leaked before the movie comes out, music gets leaked before the album comes out, this even happens in comics as The Amazing Spider-Man #700 and Batman #17 were leaked before they were released. Now we have another leak that may reveal a major spoiler that could change the Batman universe with the cover of Batman Incorporated #8. If you don't want to be spoil, leave now.

This is your last chance if you don't want to be spoiled leave now

Yes. Based off the cover of Batman Incorporated #8, it looks like a major death may be possible. On the cover you see Robin AKA Damian Wayne as the bottom reads RIP. It is a take on a classic cover to a story line Grant Morrison's, who is currently writing Batman Incorporated , Batman #676 that was drawn by Alex Ross.

As we can see, this cover strongly suggests that Damian Wayne -- or at least Robin --will die in this issue. Speculation with Damian's death has grown recently, due both to recent developments within Batman Incorporated and to rumors that issue #8 will have a major plot development. In In the lasted isssue of Batman Incorporated #6, Batman was given an ultimatum by Talia al Ghul: Damian must be sacrificed or Gotham City will be destroyed. The future Gotham setting introduced Batman #666 was revealed to be the outcome of Batman choosing Damian over his city. Perhaps Batman Incorporated #8 will see him make the opposite choice. Issue #7's revelation that Talia's bodyguard The Heretic is actually an adult clone of Damian has added another wrinkle to the mystery.

Now it is not 100% confirmed Damian will die but there is a strong possibility. I for one was just starting to like Damian. What are your thoughts? Comment below. Peace.

Be a real shame if Damian dies too many bad ideas last a long time at DC and Marvel and rarely do cool things last.

Though this is Morrison who has had characters almost question if they will be resurrected in the comic.

I knew it when that cover of Batman and Robin with the Red Hood leaked. Only Grant can kill him. But this does not mean that the sons of Batman are all dead. Just Damien. Just the good one. The rest of them? Who knows? Maybe they're destined to become the actual Sons of Batman, from The Dark Knight Returns? Maybe first they will plague Gotham City as the Mutants. Some mutants gangs have already been spotted in the pages of Batman Incorporated, could this be what Grant has been hiding up his sleeve? Could the Heretic become the Mutant Leader? That would be so friggin awesome.

Oh no! Not Damian, one of the most interesting characters in the whole DCU.

Batman didn't die in R.I.P. though. I think Damian is going to be safe (mostly, I doubt he'll die), but something bad is going to happen.

GREAAAT! Just when I went and created Damian on DCUO.

Oh well, if he does die he'll live for as long as their servers survive!

Best Robin ever, by the way.

Yeah, he was growing on me faster than Tim and I really loved Tim, after those mini-series that he had (especially the one where Shiva may or may not have taken his virginity), but in such a short space of time, Damien was really becoming a favorite of mine. Still, if he's being replaced by Carrie, then I'm all for it, homeboys.

The clone of Damian is a villain in Batman Inc The Heretic. If Damian does die he probably goes down fighting him.

I think its time for Batman to be back on the solo path. He doesn't have to have a Robin. I hope DC keeps him sidekickless for a couple years. Maybe even a limited Batman/Nightwing series sometime down the road. After Death of The Family, it would seem the family ties have all grown alot stronger.
AlReg
AlReg - 2/15/2013, 4:27 PM
The thing about him losing Robin in a Morrison story is that it is contradictory to his run where the importance of Batman's family is highlighted saying they kept him alive.

who cares who dies with DC?

They reboot their comics every few years which makes the lasting impact of any storyline worthless. It doesnt mean you dont get good stories but the shock factor just isn't there.

In Batman R.I.P. Batman didn't even die, so I suspect Damian won't in his R.I.P.

Well now that I think about it could just be the end of his "run" as a robin

@Wildaniel: TBH I wouldn't mind that at all, Harper would be a pretty cool robin

hey been reading the site for years. in my honest opinion i think killing damian is frigged up and in poor taste, especially at this point in time. we have people , adults and children whom read these comics and some of which are dealing with the horrific school shooting. ya argue it's a comic book and all but comic books are used by most to escape reality not to remind them of it. i think they should at least have the decency to wait a few years, then to kill for shock value only to pull a lazarus move later while you just pushed countless people a little further into darkness.

REDSTORM

They wouldn't make it this obvious. It's like the Star Trek 2 scene in the trailer that plays a homage to the death of Spock. They know exactly what people will think when you invoke iconic imagery. There's a twist to it.

They'll probably kill Damien off and try and replace him with Jaime Reyes.
TheFox

First of all, I love the cover. I'm always fond of simile covers when they're done well, and this one is pretty awesome.

Secondly, HELL YES! KILL THE LITTLE BASTARD! Honestly, he's a decent enough Boy Wonder, but I'm kind of sick of him, and I sincerely miss Tim Drake in the role. HE was a solid Robin-- Damian, on the other hand, has always felt like more of a placeholder than a legitimate Boy Wonder.

Either Damian is going to die (fingers crossed) or Grant's going to just zap him back to cavemen times and force him to Quantum Leap his way to the present day or some such bullshit-- either way, it doesn't really matter to me. Unless they replace him with a REALLY COOL Robin, like Tim Drake (or possibly even that teenage girl Scott Snyder introduced, Harper Row), I'm pretty much not invested in the character anymore.

Just call me when Grant Morrison's finally finished his stupid little ego trip of a run.

batman didn't actually die in RIP

As a matter of fact we had to wait until final crisis to see him fake die. And then there was just about no connection linking the two stories.

So if its a repeat of history, we'll get a good story, leading up to an obscure ending, completely unrelated to another story where Damien only appears to die.

If you look at the recently posted article for Red Hood and the Outlaws, there is a cover with Jason being carried in the arms of Bruce. It's most likely corresponding with the theme of "Death" in the Family.
DukeAcureds
DukeAcureds - 2/16/2013, 5:48 AM
This is Grant Morrison's Batman finale and he started his run by introducing Damien, so it makes sense to finish his run by removing Damien.
Besides, for his last ever word on Batman, you'd expect something big to happen. Otherwise it would be as bad as absolutely nothing happening in Death of the Family. Worse, maybe.
