FANCAST: Logan's "The Avengers"

FANCAST: Logan's "The Avengers"

After hearing all the rumors and all that jazz, I finally decided to cast my own Avengers! Here's what I have in mind..

As the year 2012 comes near and near by every passing day, I finally decided to cast my own "The Avengers" team. Most of them are known favorites, some are not. Still, it doesn't mean I don't get to cast them.

I don't really plan to include Widow and Hawkeye, so give me a break [ :) ]

Starting with the Big Three:

Mark Valley as Captain America

He's been there, you know it. Anybody who has seen Human Target would know about him and his potential. Moreover, he is already a fan of Captain America, so he respects the role more than enough. Might be a bit old, but I'd prefer Cap to have a mature aspect to him. [No offense Evans!]

Beef him up a little more and he is good to go..

-

Alexander Skarsgard as Thor Odinson

Another favorite. Seen him in True Blood, he has the heart for Thor. It might be a physical challenge, although I'm sure he could work out with a strong diet. He's got the face and the height of the Norse God, beef him up too, and he's on his way to Valahalla!

-

Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Tony Stark/Iron Man

The Comedian and Clay! He has proved himself as a worthy actor in both The Watchmen and The Losers. Haven't seen Supernatural, but the feedback he's getting is spectacular. He is potentially the next best choice after Robert Downey, Jr. Give him a shot and make him lose weight a bit.

-

Guy Pearce as Bruce Banner

Come on I mean...He's one of the perfect actors for Bruce out there. L.A. Confidential and Memento. He can also play the freaked out scientist Banner too, at least I can totally see it.

Lou Ferrigno as Hulk[voice]

I don't really need to put a description here I suppose!

-

Patrick Wlson as Hank Pym/Ant-man

Saw him in Little Children and The Watchmen. As far as the looks go, he looks the part as well and I have full faith in his acting skills. Wilson is the guy for this role.

-

Helena Bonham Carter as Janed Van Dyke/The Wasp

She has proved herself long before most did. One of the most incredible actresses Hollywood ever had. Seen her in Fight Club, Sweeney Todd, Terminator Salvation, Harry Potter and many others. She's the one to play The Wasp without a question in my book.

-

Kurt Russell as Nick Fury

One of the badass ones. Got the mouth, got the cigar, what else do you need... He can boss around the little heroes on his fingertips. As Snake Plisskin from Escape from New York and the colonel from Stargate. Russell is one of the finest out there.

-

Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill

I had her in mind way before Baccarin showed up. Currently an unknown, Smulders could easily get the "Maria Hill" attitude on the screen. Seeing her character in How I Met Your Mother, I'm sure she's the right one for the role. The Robin character in the show is about the same as Maria Hill, in the context of 'I don't take crap from anybody mister'...

-

Yvonne Strahovski as Sharon Carter

Well, we've got it coming. Yvonne is already acquainted with the role of a spy, why not Sharon Carter? She's climbing up the ladder, and the character of Sharon Carter is perfect for her in my honest opinion.

-

Ralph Fiennes as Loki

The villain of the story! He is the bad guy, that face, that's him... That's Loki right there. His career history has the evidence that he IS Loki... The Red Dragon, Harry Potter and maybe the next Bond villain! Fiennes is fine in my book.

-------------

So yeah, That's about it. I just view Loki as a great enemy against the team as he uses Hulk as well. It would be a real blast. What do you guys think?

great alternate cast (although I also like the one Marvel Studios have got), especially like Mark Valley as an older Cap! And JDM actually looks quite similar to RDJ as well!
I agree with Tankgirl about Bonham-Carter, she's too old for the role, and can she even do a good american accent (I don't even remember if Wasp IS American)?
Just a heads up, your picture for Yvonne Strahovski as Sharon Carter has the name 'Davners' under the pic of Carter.

I like this cast though, would be interested on seeing your take on other movie fan casts, like Spider-Man or The Fantastic 4!

@ACira: Totally a mistake, I put Alice Eve there before her, my mistake. :)

I've always seen HBCarter as the perfect Janet... Who knows, depends on the perspective perhaps. And I'd say she looks as old as Patrick if not younger. :P

Was planning to work on a Fantastic Four Fan cast already. Appreciate the reminder. :P

Thanks for the heads up and the feedback :)

Nice cast and all but some of the age's are just totally wrong Carter and Fiennes would absolutely own there roles but there too old loki is thors younger brother so you need to cast some one closer Skarsgaards age. Carter is simply too old, Janet is meant to be younger then pym considerably and Carter does not look that young. JDM would be great as stark but the dudes only one year younger then RDJ so you should have gone with some younger, as theres no point replacing RDJ with some one only a year younger.

By the way I am not trying to be dick so don't take my opinions personally but besides that I like the cast especially Fiennes as Loki its just that some of the age is a bit off

I like all of your picks, except Iron Man. If you are going to replace RDJ it should be Ed Quinn.
Personaly I wanted Kevin McKidd as thor. I think Dvid Anders would be an awesome Loki or Riddler.

@Exiles, yeah I was kind of totally numb about Thor/Loki. The age difference wouldn't look that odd if they worked on it I bet though. =P

Carter was always marked as The Wasp in my head, ever since I saw Fight Club. :)

@Lewis25, Great Picks. :)

MY Fantastic Four cast has a bit old actors too, but I kinda like the maturity on the screen. Don't know why.

Good cast. I don't think Russel is a great choice or Fury but he does look the part.

@clogan: where do you get the backgrounds / fonts on your fancasts from?

Thanks people :)

@Sagemode: I used the Impact font on this one, as for the background, it's done in PS. For fonts I mostly use daFont...
