OK, many people are probably not onboard with me already. Mainly because Spider-Man 2 is widely considered a Masterpiece, but me on the other hand, it [frick]ing sucks! Now sure, when I first saw it when I was like [frick]ing twelve or so I loved it, but times change and I matured. My issue with Spider-Man 2 is that it’s theme doesn’t fit the movie, at all, we all know the theme is “Giving up what you want for the better of mankind” and to be honest, it does kinda work for the whole “I don’t want to be spider-man anymore” shit. But god’s sake it does not work in this movie. The theme for Spider-Man 3, “Forgiveness” would’ve worked so much more in this one, in fact it would’ve made Peter telling Aunt May that he feels guilty, and the ending with Doc Ock so much better. Doc Ock’s last act was to basically earn his forgiveness in his late wife’s eyes for what he’s done. If I had it my way, Spider-Man 2 would’ve been about Peter forgiving himself, and getting forgiveness from his Aunt, so that in Spider-Man 3 he could attempt to quite, while gaining an addiction of power from the symbiot. That sounds better to me.

Spider-Man 2 is in no way perfect, not in my eyes at least. The theme of it is imperfect to the story even though the characters are well written and preformed. So I have nothing against the crew just the script. I mean it’s a usual tradition to have the 2nd Movie in the franchise to deal with the hero wanting to quite. But for god’s sake why couldn’t it have not happened here, instead of genially working things out, Peter looks more like an @$$-whipe for quitting, I may be ranting on Spider-Man 2, but I’m serious I felt like punching him in Spider-Man 2, and even worse, in 3 he just goes of the deep-end. Seriously these are two terrible movies, sure you guys and gals love ‘em but I don’t. Basically I don’t like these movies because the themes and some events should’ve switched. Yes Spider-Man 3 would still have Venom in it in my version, but no Sandman. And it would be done early in the film when we introduce Venom, at least 1/3 of the way in. Leaving the 3rd with enough time to go through the whole “I don’t want to do this anymore.” Phase.
Way it should’ve been:

Spider-Man: Great Power Comes Great Responsibility

Spider-Man 2: Forgiveness

Spider-Man 3: Sacrifice, or Giving up what you want most for the benefit of mankind.

And because of these to suck-tastic movies, we’ll sit through a completely pointless reboot. That’s effin’ swell

The first two were great when they came out, but they haven't really aged well. If you watch them now, the scripts seem pretty trite and cliche and some of the actors (especially Dunst and Franco) seem pretty crappy. I like Franco, but he sucks in all of these movies, and Dunst looks progressively more stoned as the series goes on.

The fact that you just said you saw Spider-Man 2 when you were 12 makes me feel incredibly old right now.

The movie is definitely not perfect but I think it had some elements that were missing from the first one, better action and CGI which is a plus the story was no better than the first maybe actually a little weaker, I mean they had to throw a train in NY when above ground train doesn't even exist in NY! Still I saw this movie when I was 21 and enjoyed it.

I'm excited for the reboot. I think Garfield will be a better Parker than McGuire was (I thought McGuire was great at first, but by the third film it was clear that he shouldn't be playing Peter Parker anymore), and the action scenes in Avatar had me dreaming of how amazing a 3D Spiderman could be.

lol @stumblin sorry didn't mean to make you or anyone feel old, lol, but if it makes you feel better, my brother was 22 when he saw it so maybe that balance everything out.

Haha! No it doesn't but it's all good brother! I can definitely see why you don't like the Spider-Man movies though, I like the first and second the most but still plenty that I would like to change.

@Whiteharted, you're a prick, one of those "My Opinion is the only Opinion" A-Holes that don't seem to understand people can have opinions and they CAN be different from yours. So until you can actually understand that, i don't have another damn word to say to you
