Kate Mara, star of the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, was recently interviewed by Esquire Latin America. In a translation of the Spanish article, she was quoted as saying, "I’ve never been a fan of comics, I’ve never actually read one. I was going to for this movie but the director said it wasn’t necessary. Well, actually he told us that we shouldn’t do it because the plot won’t be based on any history of anything already published."

However, according to Entertainment Weekly, this was a mistranslation. EW contacted Mara's representative, and she actually meant to say the film was not based on one particular comic, but on the Fantastic Four's entire comic book history.

This is certainly good news! The reason for the confusion was likely due to a bad translation. Are you happy that Fantastic Four will be based on the comics? Are you still not interested? Let me know in the comments!
