New Details On THE FANTASTIC FOUR's Scrapped Steve Rogers Scene (And What It Means For AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY)

More details about Chris Evans' scrapped cameo in The Fantastic Four: First Steps have been revealed, and we have some insights into what it means for Avengers: Doomsday.

Before The Fantastic Four: First Steps' release last summer, it was rumoured that Chris Evans would have a cameo role in the movie. That obviously didn't happen, though we've since heard that the Russo Brothers shot a scene meant to tee up Avengers: Doomsday.

For any number of reasons, the decision was made to swap it out for that big Doctor Doom tease in the Baxter Building. As a result, our first look at Steve Rogers' MCU return came in a teaser trailer first released last December.

Today, insider @MyTimeToShineH has shared a few additional details about original plans for Steve's appearance in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. As a reminder, it's previously been reported that he, Peggy Carter, and their child all now reside on Earth-828.

"The original post-credits scene for First Steps, which was removed, had the Fantastic Four visiting Steve at his cabin on their Earth and asking him for help with a multiversal problem/the Incursions," they write. "That scene now appears in Avengers: Doomsday."

There are still a lot of missing puzzle pieces, but the scooper would go on to claim that Evans will also appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, suggesting his story won't end with this surprise return.

Claims that Steve's actions in Avengers: Endgame—when he travelled back in time to get his happy ending with Peggy Carter—have doomed the Multiverse persist.

Either way, the Russo Brothers will need to figure out a way to explain how he ended up in the present day as an old man (and we still don't know what became of him after he showed up with a new shield in hand).

There's also a pretty compelling theory doing the rounds, suggesting that we already caught a glimpse of Steve in The Fantastic Four: First Steps' post-credits scene...

Avengers: Doomsday officially stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and Robert Downey Jr. Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Mabel Cadena, Florence Pugh, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Lewis Pullman, and India Rose Hemsworth all make their Avengers franchise debuts.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps leads Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn join them, as do X-Men franchise stars Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, with Deadpool & Wolverine star Channing Tatum. The trades have pointed to Ryan Reynolds and Hayley Atwell also appearing in Avengers: Doomsday.

The Russo Brothers direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely, with whom they previously collaborated on the Avengers and Captain America franchises. Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness's Michael Waldron has also been enlisted to help.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18, with Avengers: Secret Wars scheduled to arrive on December 17, 2027.

Reminiscent of when Scott, Steve, and Nat visited Stark at his cabin to ask about time travel

Anyone else remember the days when movie news writers would write about actual movie news and not regurgitate rumors from random people on social media?

I feel like we already knew about this but could be wrong…

This apparent post credits scene sounds fine but I like the one we got since it was a more exciting tease imo.

However I do like the idea of the people watching the FF cartoon at the end of First Steps being Steve & his son , if he is on Earth 828 imo which seems dubious to me but we’ll see.

Anyway , First Steps was solid imo so can’t wait to see that version of The Fantastic Four interact with Steve in Doomsday hopefully (I fully expect some meta joke given Evans’s history with that franchise)!!.

So did he create Universe 828 as a branch reality when he went back in time to stay with Peggy as the Sorcerer Supreme said would happen? Otherwise, how would he have traveled to another universe?

@Huskers - One of the rumors is that Loki saved them from their branch being erased and transported them both to the F4 timeline sometime before he took the throne (ie offscreen tween season one and two maybe) but then another suggested the Endgame branch creation is what led to the death of Doom's family which reads more like they created the F4 timeline (maybe by saving the F4 from dying in their first spaceflight even if indirectly) but that 'he killed my family' stuff was framed as a probable lie from Doom.

I'm glad they pulled that scene. The scoopers had delivered the news shortly after, and confirmed just six mnths later in the Doomsday trailer. I think that would've been too much information to give us about Doomsday.

This movie is going to be something VERY special. I want to see an official trailer too. However, I want just tiny bits and pieces here and there to get us hyped for the full-on event. People going to SDCC will be the luckiest bastards alive because that's the only marquis event that I can see Marvel and Disney making a huge unveiling of this project.

So.. Steve created 828 when he stayed in the past? One hell of a butterfly effect considering how different that world is ...

What year did Steve go back to, is it possible it was before the end of WW2 so he could've gone to europe to try to correct some things as Cap adding backstory for a Cap and Logan teamup in a future X men flashback cameo ?

Total BS he said she said. If Steve went back and resided on Earth-828, like you say how did he end up on 616 at the end.

Half of these rumors are just nonsense now.
