If Avengers: Doomsday ends the way everyone expects, it will be with Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom sitting on a throne as the ruler of Battleworld. The question is, what will the villain's new reality look like?
Leaked concept art has offered some clues, though the Russo Brothers have since said it wasn't representative of what we'll see in Avengers: Secret Wars. Now, Downey may have offered a glimpse at what's to come with a very cool jacket he was spotted wearing during D23.
Covered in patches, it features fake businesses like "Bob's Storage Void," "Shang-Chi's Washer Rings," and "Thunderbolt Tyres." There's also "Reed's Repairs" and "Thanos Stump Grinding," among others.
While we're not suggesting that Avengers: Secret Wars will place all these iconic heroes in regular jobs, these do feel like the types of Easter Eggs we could see in at least one corner of Battleworld. Remember, that's a hodgepodge of countless realities all smashed together into one inhabitable world, so there's likely to be more than one Variant of a character there.
Time will tell whether this is just a fun jacket donned by the Oscar winner or a glimpse at what's to come, but if nothing else, you've got to smile at these clever Marvel Easter Eggs.
"Avengers: Endgame was truly an end, and since then, we've tried and experimented with many new things. But Avengers: Secret Wars is a beginning," Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige previously said. "It will establish a streamlined, simplified, single universe that we can keep up with. Some things will be familiar, but many, many things will be entirely new."
"Going back to what we mentioned earlier about attracting young people and connecting with a new generation of audiences, that's exactly what the next universe will be about."

The confirmed (or, semi-confirmed, at least) cast of Avengers: Secret Wars includes Robert Downey Jr. (Doctor Doom), Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Paul Bettany (The Vision), Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), and Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter).

The Russo Brothers direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely, with whom they previously collaborated on the Avengers and Captain America franchises. Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness's Michael Waldron has also been enlisted to refine the story, alongside Spider-Man: Brand New Day's Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18, with Avengers: Secret Wars scheduled to arrive on December 17, 2027.
