As we get closer to the release of Avengers: Doomsday, new content from the MCU movie continues to find its way online. Today, an in-universe promotional poster reveals a first look at Earth-828's Latveria.
The design should be immediately recognisable to comic book fans, with the foreboding Castle Doom towering high above the city below. However, an interesting addition here is the airships flying high above Victor Von Doom's home.
The borders being closed is also telling, albeit not hugely surprising given Latveria's absence from the world's attempts to protect the planet from Galactus in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
The question now is, where is Doomstadt Tower located?
We also have a few official photos of Doctor Doom and Earth's Mightiest Heroes, along with a leaked batch of images showcasing James Marsden's return as Cyclops. Like the character shots on the officially released banner, those come from pre-production photoshoots used for marketing purposes.
Joe Russo previously said that Avengers: Doomsday's take on Doctor Doom hits "that sweet spot between being very specific and unique to the original story that happens within this film but also delivering on what the most awesome things are about Doom in the comics."
He added that "we always look at it as our job to not tell you a story that you’ve heard before; we’re never translating directly from the comics," promising the MCU's Doom will be "what we love most about the comics" and also "what is original to our storytelling, what is brand new."
@GlobalBoxOffice is reporting that Avengers: Doomsday has crossed $100 million in pre-sales at the global box office. While the movie could be very frontloaded over the holidays, it's not hard to imagine it breaking box office records.
