Screenwriter Marc Guggenheim has been working hard on cranking out a screenplay for the new Green Lantern live action movie. We know that the story will be centered around Hal Jordan, but apparently we will be introduced to a new Green Lantern character as well; created specifically for the live action film according to MTV news. G-Man wonders if this is really a big deal; disagreed with him. I feel like this could be considered pretty bad news. Whatever happened to just sticking with characters that already exist in comic book continuity? Is creating a new Green Lantern character really all that necessary? I mean, we have enough to choose from. Maybe Mr. Guggenheim needs to do a little bit more research. What do you guys think? Could throwing in brand new characters this early into the project be a bad idea? Good idea? You tell me.
