JUSTICE LEAGUE: Would Netflix's Potential Acquisition Of Warner Bros. Discovery #RestoreTheSnyderVerse?

With it being widely reported that Netflix could be looking to acquire Warner Bros. and its library, DCEU fans on social media are sharing their hope that this could lead to the SnyderVerse's return...

Fans have spent years hoping that Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios might #RestoreTheSnyderVerse, but does Netflix's interest in acquiring the company make that any more likely?

While Paramount Skydance remains the top contender to purchase Warner Bros., it was recently reported that Netflix has "retained financial advisory firm Moelis & Co to explore a potential bid," meaning the streaming platform is "looking into" the possibility of entering the fray.

When Netflix co-CEOs Greg Peters and Ted Sarandos were asked about the possibility of courting Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav last month, the former said, "You have to do that by the hard work of developing those capabilities in the trenches day to day. You don’t get there simply by buying another company that is also still developing those same capabilities."

Sarandos added, "We’ve been very clear in the past that we have no interest in owning legacy media networks, so there is no change there."

Netflix has, of course, worked closely with Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League director Zack Snyder in recent years. However, Army of the Dead and the Rebel Moon movies weren't exactly huge successes for the platform.

Still, DCEU fans have been taking to social media in their droves, expressing their hope that Netflix's potential acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery will somehow lead to the SnyderVerse being restored on streaming.

It's a nice thought, but not one that really makes sense. After all, why would Netflix basically scrap DC Studios and its DCU plans to give Snyder hundreds of millions of dollars to make his Justice League sequels for its monthly subscribers? If anything, it would be business as usual, with HBO Max's content likely added to Netflix, and Netflix overseeing Warner Bros. Pictures' slate on theatrical releases.

New leadership could be beneficial to Snyder, and while the DC Universe is going to be a big draw for any potential buyer when it comes to an acquisition, giving the SnyderVerse another chance isn't likely to be anyone's priority. After all, James Gunn's Superman will end 2026 as the year's highest-grossing superhero movie.

So, where does that leave Snyder and his Justice League hopes? Well, nothing is likely to change, though it is a little perplexing that DC Studios hasn't enlisted him to either finish his story as a comic book or animated project to better bring an end to the continued demands from #RestoreTheSnyderVerse loyalists.

Would you like to see Snyder given the opportunity to finish his Justice League trilogy? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

This is getting [frick]ing ridiculous now.
We already got Zack’s 4-hour cut, that was the closure. [frick]ing let it go.
Superman just dropped this year and smashed it, Supergirl’s coming next year and it’s all one [frick]ing continuity now.
Netflix [frick]ing isn't about to blow billions reviving an old arc that already had its ending, especially when Snyder’s Rebel Moon didn’t even [frick]ing land.
The DCU has moved the [frick] on. Maybe it’s time the fandom does too.

For [frick]s Sake

@THEKENDOMAN - LMAO that wasn't closure sir that movie ended on a massive cliffhanger that the whole DCEU was building towards 😅 you really thought people would watch that and then think year the universe is finished?

@THEKENDOMAN - "Superman just dropped this year and smashed it" lol Bringing back another bad thing is not the solution, but let's not kid ourselves, movie wasn't good

@ClungeOfSteel - OG, you’re right. It ended on a massive cliffhanger, which was around the 3:53:20 mark if I’m not mistaken, and honestly, it’s all I could’ve hoped for. ZSJL was a [frick]ing blessing in disguise, and I thank God for it every [frick]ing day. 🙏

But yeah, I won’t lie, it did leave us hanging like mad. That [frick]ing Knightmare future? Darkseid still looming? Flash running through time? [frick]ing hell. But the truth is, I don’t want to go through that pain of hoping again. I want to accept it that it’s done, dusted, and gone. Let’s just enjoy what Gunn’s giving us and see where this new DCU takes us.

That said, if we ever get a proper final run, a real conclusion to ZSJL… [frick] yeah mate, you know I’m down. Might even shed a [frick]ing tear or two in disbelief. 🔥

@Urubrodi - To each his own, mate. Some of us [frick]ing loved it. 💥 Superman just dropped this year and smashed it, that’s not even up for debate. But bringing something else back just because doesn’t mean it’s the answer either(You're half right). Let’s move forward, not in circles. 👊

@THEKENDOMAN - Well considering the movie is one of their biggest IPs, it didn't make that high of a profit and it's nowhere near universally acclaimed is you are making it sound. In this website alone you'll find plenty of people who didn't like it that much. But happy that you liked it though.

It's only the start of this universe though, so I hope that moving forward there will be other properties that will appeal to me more.

@Urubrodi - I [frick]ing enjoyed it, mate, [frick]ing did. Was I expecting heaven and earth? Maybe. But I was just excited to see my DC back and Superman flying the [frick]ing skies again. And like you rightly said, it’s just the start, it’ll get better over time. Let’s [frick]ing ride it out 💪🏽🦸‍♂️

@THEKENDOMAN - you are so [frick]ing right. I'd be curious to see what Snyder would do to 'finish' his plan, but in comicbook form or even animated. That's it.
None of the actors would come back for more. Like them, everyone just needs to move the [frick] on!

@THEKENDOMAN - James Gunn's Superman movie wasn't good. It was a mess of a story and completely everywhere. Man of Steel was far more enjoyable.

@THEKENDOMAN - I’d like them to bring back the Snyderverse but with a few tweaks. Let Cavil smile and save some people, have Batman fight some of his villains, recast Flash and add a Green Lantern. That said, after the Rebel Moon disaster, I don’t see them backing him again.
THEKENDOMAN
THEKENDOMAN - 11/3/2025, 10:50 AM
@SonOfAGif - Ok mate, if you say so.

I personally [frick]ing loved it, but I’ll [frick]ing agree with you on one [frick]ing thing: Man of Steel was a very good adaptation of Superman. Top-tier [frick]ing stuff. 💪🏽🦸‍♂️

@THEKENDOMAN - So you believe Netflix would leave MILLIONS of dollars & not work with Zack on DC when it was ZACKs 4 HOUR long JLA Movie that BROKE THE INTERNET the day it was introduced? Gunn NEVER made DCU a profit...NEVER! Here's the list of FLOPS that LOST MONWEY & DID NOT make a profit, Suicide Squad, The Flash, Blue Beetle, Peacemaker (DID NOT CHART) Creature Commandos (DID NOT CHART) GUNNS Superman lost $45 MILLION DOLLARS(FORBES) And whats next Supergirl which isn't a movie anyones looking forward to, Clayface(😂) a movie NOBODY is waiting to see. Gunns fan base is TINY & can't justify keeping Gunn cuz they don't help his numbers....Gunn fans are SHILLS & fat white guys on a playstation at home with their mom.🤣🤣😂🤣 Zack will be back as HEAD OF DC under Netflix! Gunns contract is UP NEXT YEAR & have not been renewed!!!!! That says EVERYTHING😂😒🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣

mck13 - 11/3/2025, 11:19 AM
@THEKENDOMAN - Your Superman is a wining bitch that gets kicked in the nuts with a HORRIBLE suit. This is NOT BETTER than Superman Returns with Brandon Routh!! FACTS!! Even David Corneswet kept asking Gunn WHY is his superman constantly whining & complaining. Then Gunn got rid of his BTS of the movie. RELEASE THE GUNN CUTS!v I want to see the 30 minutes OF BULL SHIT that they made him take out cuz it was TOO CORNY! After watching Peacemaker I can ONLY IMAGINE😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
THEKENDOMAN
THEKENDOMAN - 11/3/2025, 11:50 AM
@mck13 - Bloody hell mate.. 14 Comment alerts you’re clearly [frick]ing passionate, and fair [frick]ing enough, Zack’s cut did [frick]ing break the internet and was a cultural [frick]ing moment, no denying that.

But let’s not [frick]ing rewrite history. Streaming [frick]ing hype doesn’t always equal a sustainable [frick]ing franchise model. WB didn’t [frick]ing move forward with Snyder’s vision for reasons beyond just fan [frick]ing buzz.

And as for Gunn, love him or [frick]ing hate him, Superman was a solid [frick]ing relaunch and Peacemaker had strong [frick]ing acclaim, even if it didn’t "chart" by your [frick]ing standards.

Let’s just [frick]ing see what unfolds, no need to crown anyone [frick]ing king just yet.
THEKENDOMAN
THEKENDOMAN - 11/3/2025, 11:54 AM
@mck13 - Matey, you’re calling Superman a whining bitch like that’s a flaw, but that’s kinda the whole point.

As he said to Lex in the film:

“That is where you've always been wrong about me, Lex. I am as human as anyone. I love, I get scared. I wake up every morning, and despite not knowing what to do, I put one foot in front of the other, and I try to make the best choices that I can.”
“But that is being human. And that's my greatest strength.”
“And someday, for the sake of the world, I hope you understand that it's yours too.”

We're all whining bitches sometimes, that’s what being human [frick]ing is. And that’s what made this version different, not just another god in a cape, but someone trying to be good in a real world full of pressure, doubt, and pain.

So maybe instead of dunking on that, try seeing it for what it [frick]ing is: growth. You can keep your "Release the Gunn Cut" campaign, but this Superman spoke to a lot of us who needed to hear that.

For [frick]s Sake

Excited by the possibility! I really liked most of his DC movies, that slightly darker tone works so well in bringing these characters into mainstream cinema. The same worked for Nolan too.
Forthas
Forthas - 11/3/2025, 9:15 AM
@Spike101 - It worked not just for Nolan, but for Todd Phillips and Matt Reeves - who lets face it - were aping Nolan which is not a bad thing. These films NEVER FAILED for WB!!!! They NEVER lost a dime for WB which is why it made zero sense for them to go full on cartoony and watch them lose massive amounts of money.

Forthas
Forthas - 11/3/2025, 1:13 PM
@RolandD - Oddly if the film took out the musical numbers it might have been a better received film but like with all musicals, the performances take you out of the film. While it may be a drama, it is also a musical. DC films should be purely and only drama, science fiction, and action spectacle. Warner Brothers keeps trying to make comedies for some reason and in that case a musical hence why DC films crash and burn.

"After all, James Gunn's Superman will end 2026 as the year's highest-grossing superhero movie." The company's biggest hero (together with Batman) managed to beat Thunderbolts, a Cap movie with no Cap and a franchise that never succeeded in cinemas. Wow what an achievement.
