Lost: Episode 6:09 Ab Aeterno

Love that the ep was mostly spanish. This ep was very moving and dramatic, Alpert's character is much clearer and we finally get a sense of the evil vs good mechanics that have been there since season 1.

yeah but their answers we already figured out. richard was on the black rock as a slave, he's the way he is because jacob touched him.........what did we really learn? im not saying it wasn't a great episode. the acting was superb. but all we really did was SEE what we already knew.

For me it was more about getting confirmation of this game thats being played between Jacob and Smokey. He admits that he brings them there only to have them slaughtered..or join his cause. Basically admits hat he's a mother[frick]er.

Della I don't think Un-locke was supposed to be watching them, I think it just showed him before he had a flashback to meeting with Jacob. And the ghosts that Hurley sees are actually Ghost I think..after all, Jacob appeared to him too.

Oh man...Im a HUGE Fan and Richard have always been one of my fav characters...I do admit I thought he was from the 1600's.

This show rocks...

Man, I love Richard. He's one of my favorite characters.

ror@ i did an article at earthsmightiest in which i believe i uncovered a source who lays out the rest of the season. its in the archive secition over there. you should check it out and see what you think. its in line with what you are saying about split personalities. but its supposed to be real.

Hey anythings possible, but I think if Smokey was appearing to Richard as his dead wife when Hurley was acting as intermediary, he wouldn't have told him "You must stop the man in black", since Richard was already out there calling for him and asking could he join him, wouldn't it have been easier to just tip him more in that direction than in the opposite?

Pooch, just had a look..man its certainly an interesting theory..I hate it though! If that turns out to be the case it will be one of those Sopranos/BSG moments for sure.

ror@ i dont know if it would be as bad as those endings. if they did it right it might be ok. but looking back at some of the other episodes like "the constant".....if it turns out this is just a battle between 2 higher beings then why would an episode like that matter? why all the time travel and alternate reality stuff if its just a moral struggle? i also recall when daniel saw the t.v. reporting that flight 815 had been found at the bottom of the ocean he was in his bathrobe sobbing profusely at what he was watching. at that point he knew nothing about the plane or the island so why would he be so upset that it was found? just makes me think that his story and theories of the island will still play a big part.

I like Lapidus, Jeff Fahey is class. But yeah, I don't see him surviving till the end! Pooch, i'm sure Faraday and his Constant story, tying in with Desmond will play a part, but I doubt it will be the ultimate crux of the show. Also, one big flaw in that dudes theory is this..Faraday is dead! Surely after being killed both of those manifestations of his personality/consciousness would also cease to exist?

Della@ i think the polar bears were there just to test how different animals from different climates survived there. i believe that was actually said. don't take me to the bank on that one tho.

My theory is that libby was working for charles widmore. and she was essentially "spying" on hurley in the hospital. She also gave desmond her boat - her boat that belonged to her late husband david - the same name of the guy hurley saw in the hospital and on the island. could they be the same? maybe. but that has nothing to do with Charles Widmore. she was a clinical psychologist - maybe he hired her for that much like he hired faraday, miles, and charlotte for their respective talents. putting together profiles of the "candidates" to help Charles find a way back to the island.

Mr. Eko was a weird case because that actor just didn't want to sign on for so many seasons while living in Hawaii. he asked to be written off of the show - so there's nothing to read into there.

My theory was the dharma initiative was testing people to be candidates. or at least something similar. the button at the swan station offers too many parallels to protecting the island and making a leap of faith. it was also funded by Alvar Hanzo - the descendant of the owner of the Black Rock Magnus Hanzo. maybe they have a connection to Jacob. but i think the people of dhara know about as much as the losties.

i could be 100% wrong on each one of these but the fact is i offered you answers in less than 10 minutes. 1/5 of an episode of LOST. just saying it's still possible for them to offer up quick answers that cover alot of ground.

ror@ the daniel that died though is the daniel of THIS timeline/dimension. not the one who travelled from the alt timeline/dimension. he is still around on the island somewhere. perhaps the guy who was in the cabin asking locke for help? anyway, the point is there would be 2 daniels just like 2 of everyone else. only this daniel died, not the one from the original reality. i see the flaw in his theory being that jack sees injuries and scars from the other reality. if they truly are seperate realities and only daniel is traveling between both there wouldnt be those crossovers. unless jack is his constant and maybe that why he seems to be the only one noticing the differences.

ror@ i agree. it seems like it should be much grander than that and probably will be. just thought the guys ascertion about inside source and some spoiler knowledge he had that turned out to be true made it more interesting than the usual theory dribble you find out there.

and dont forget the man in black didnt show up until the last episode of last season so just cause daniel was a late addition doesnt make him unimportant.

i have been watching this since 2003...and the writers might forgot that richard was out in the island to recruit juliet...so what's with him so convinced that they were in hell?! ..some question tht are still unanswered are where is the body of jack's father? what realy happened to claire (she was last seen before this season with jack's father in the cabin), so what's with the "pushing the button to save the world" and Jacob's "I only invite people to come here in the island"?, where does the Polar Bear come from?, who are the builders of the temple, lighthouse, statue, etc? and i know there are lot more questions that was not included here...but at least im going to see this series comes to an end...
