PREDATOR: BADLANDS Final Trailer Features Epic Action, Elle Fanning's Second Character, And Weyland-Yutani

Ahead of Predator: Badlands' release in theaters next month, 20th Century Studios has released a final trailer for the movie, and it's packed full of epic action as the "Ultimate Predator" is unleashed!

The final trailer for Predator: Badlands is here, along with a new poster for filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg's highly anticipated Prey and Predator: Killer of Killers follow-up.

In this latest sneak peek, we see more of the franchise's new non-human lead, a Predator named Dek, as he embarks on a mission to become the "Ultimate Predator." Along the way, we catch sight of a Yautja who looks an awful lot like the Grendel King from Killer of Killers, and a glimpse at Elle Fanning's second role, Tessa, the "sister" synth of Weyland-Yutani's Thia.

The movie also looks much heavier on action than Prey and has more of an "action-blockbuster" feel as a result. It's an interesting next step for the franchise, and we'd imagine the same will be true for whatever follows this chapter.

It remains to be seen what form the Alien: Romulus sequel takes, but all signs appear to be pointing to a new Alien vs. Predator movie heading our way down the line.

Predator: Badlands producer Ben Rosenblatt recently spoke with Screen Rant and explained this movie's fresh approach to Predator. "The big idea is that we are trying to do a Predator movie where the Predator is the hero, the protagonist of the movie. So our story follows an undersized predator."

"It begins on Yautja Prime with this predator and his immediate family and through a series of both exciting and tragic events, he’s set off on a journey on a foreign planet, and that’s where most of the film is taking place."

Addressing the Alien of it all, he confirmed that the Xenomorphs won't appear. However, the presence of Weyland-Yutani did open the door to exploring new storytelling avenues in the world of Predator.

"On this journey, he meets a Weyland-Yutani synth who has been severed in half and stuck in a nest on the planet waiting for some way to help get out of there," Rosenblatt shared. "So the backstory on that is Weyland-Yutani has sent an all-synth mission onto this planet to pursue the very same beast for their own purposes."

The movie, which stars Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, is set in the future on a remote planet, where a young Predator (Schuster-Koloamatangi), outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia (Fanning) and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary.

Dan Trachtenberg directs and produces Predator: Badlands alongside John Davis, Marc Toberoff, Ben Rosenblatt, and Brent O’Connor.

Predator: Badlands opens exclusively in movie theaters on November 7 in IMAX, Dolby Cinema, Cinemark XD, 4DX, ScreenX, and premium screens everywhere. You can see the new trailer and poster below (via SFFGazette.com).

'PREY' was fantastic. I watched it in Comanche without subtitles and it triggered a part of my brain I don't use enough. The part that uses context clues to determine what is going on in the story. I was never lost and the experience was one I WISH I could recreate. Also, it solved a problem some people had with the film about some of the dialogue seeming forced. I never had that problem (obviously). I didn't understand her, but I knew what she was going through. I didn't understand the French settlers either, but neither did she so I felt her fear alongside her. I can't recommend this enough. If you haven't seen 'PREY' yet, watch it like this. It's not dubbed. The actors actually filmed their scenes in both English and Comanche.

@JackDeth - I watched it in English but I’ll definitely try to do that before seeing this

It was a good film regardless!!

Did you watch Killer of Killers?.

I liked that aswell.

@TheVisionary25 - Yeah, I dug KILLER OF KILLERS, but I'm not sure how I feel about the ending.

@JackDeth - yeah

If those threads are picked up soon then I would be more ok with the open endedness of it .

@TheVisionary25 - I just don't know I feel about the survivors getting picked up after they win. After watching 'PREY' and seeing Naru was picked up after everything she went through kind of felt disrespectful, tbh.

@HashTagSwagg - we need a giant-ass, 4 hour movie where all of the Hollywood monsters just beat the sh1t out of each other.
Predator, Aliens, Terminator, All of the mega 80s slasher dudes (Freddy, Jason, Michael, the IT clown, Hellraiser dude (is that Pinhead?), Candyman, and bleed into the 90s: Raptors and T-Rexes, The million Ghost Faces, Godzilla-Ripoff, Kevin Spacey's bad guy in Seven, Denzel's demon in Fallen, any Amityville Horror demon, All of the Chuckys, anything Vincent Price was in, all the random Vampire movies from 80s to 90s, General Zod, Nuclear Man, Arnold's Freeze, the Devil from Keanu's movie, F'n Jack Nicholson's Colnol from a Few Good Men, all Werewolf movies of the 80s and 90s, and all other psychotic, perverse, movies from the late 70s to the early 2000s, oh, and Jessie Spano's stripper from Showgirls. She taught us teens of the 90s a lot about rubbing 10 out. Though, we all wish it was the Tiffany Amber T actress who was the Saturday morning Kelly. Or, if you're into Screeches character go see a priest.

It seems good imo so looking forward to it!!.

The idea of the cast being made up of Yautja’s , synths and creatures with no humans apparently is very interesting and thus also makes me excited to see how Dek & Thia’s relationship evolves over the course of the film.

Also it seems like Elle Fanning is playing atleast 2 characters with one being an antagonist which is interesting aswell!!.

It seems like a step back in terms of realism for the series, but I love a good over the top sci fi action film, so I am all in.

Just found out it's PG-13 and if this is successful you can damn well gurantee that new AVP film is gonna be PG again. Disney's gonna Disney. They already have their Baby Yoda on steroids with that green little shit on the poster. Even the 2 predator's fighting on that edge looks straight out of Rise of Skywalker's poster.

@JabbaTheSus -
The quote:
"If all goes according to plan, Badlands will be the first Predator movie with a PG-13 rating rather than R. “Our hope for it is that it can be a PG-13 that feels like an R. That’s kind of our hope… being able to broaden out the audience for a movie like this.” With no human blood amid all the action, avoiding that R rating becomes more justified."

What fans are hoping /coping for in their brain minds is that it's because all the human characters in the film are actually "artifical persons" so they can get away with showing alien blood and that milk sh1t.

Predator is MY thing. LOVE it. Never been a big Alien fan but I do like the current show.
I'm still a HUGE fan of the 2010s Predators. Brody was down right awesome. And, oddly, that 70s was damn good in it as a random psychopath.

This movie feels like it could have been an email.

After seeing prey and killer of killers, taking the concept this far into the creative space feels like a killer of killers spin-off type of concept and not a traditional minimalist approach predator feature film. That said, catch me when I was 14-28 with a bag of weed or a 12 pack to enhance the experience and I’d be there no question except for… PG-13. Woof.

Will be a hard flop, it is really got PG-13.

I wish they had made a sequel to Predators where more warriors are dropped in from other worlds and Adrian Brody's character tells them the deal and they all team up. Just bring together a vast array of weapons and skills. They get really good at it and it becomes a planet where training predators go to die. So the predators get serious and send a whole platoon in to try and wipe them out.
