A Former Batman Replaces Hugh Laurie As The Villain In ROBOCOP
MGM have found a replacement for Hugh Laurie (House) in director Jose Padilha's RoboCop remake, and the villain will be played by a former Caped Crusader! Which one? Well, hit the jump to find out! The director also comments on the casting.
Best known for playing Batman in Tim Burton's Batman and Batman Returns (younger readers may instead remember him from the Academy Award winning Pixar movie Toy Story 3 in which he voiced 'Ken'), Michael Keaton has now joined the cast of RoboCop as the villainous CEO of Omni Corp, 'Raymond Sellars'. "Michael is the final addition to the amazing cast we have assembled for this film and it is so great to have the last puzzle piece in place. It is thrilling that everything has come together to bring this innovative new vision of RoboCop to life. We’ve got a great script, a great cast, some killer ED-209’s and I can’t wait to get Alex Murphy back on the streets," said director Jose Padilha. The actor will star opposite Joel Kinnaman, Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman and Abbie Cornish in the remake. RoboCop is currently expected to be released on August 9th, 2013.
