Everything about JJ Abrams' upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX is wrapped in secrecy. All we previously knew about the film when it was being helmed by Jurassic World director Colin Tervorrow, was that Leia would be at the forefront much like Han and Luke were in the previous two.

This changed, however, with Carrie Fisher's tragic passing and Trevorrow's removal from the project.

The only pieces of information we've been getting are regarding new characters from casting calls. We recently heard that the film was looking for a new female lead; aged 40-50 years old, to portray a character referred to as "Mara", now we're hearing that they're looking for yet another new female character, this time much younger.

The Hashtag Show has revealed that casting director Nina Gold is on the hunt for an 18-26 year old "ethnic female", with a reported strong preference for an African-American to portray a character by the name of "Caro", who is described as having a "captivating naturalness and ease to her manner" and someone who is a "leader and problem solver, smart with a great sense of humour and a strong will. All this comes to her effortlessly."

What role both Caro and Mara have to play in the JJ Abrams and Chris Terrio scripted Star Wars: Episode IX remains to be seen, but with the film set to go into production in a couple of months, we should find out more soon.

What do you think? How do you think these character's will fit into Episode IX? What would you like to see for the film? Leave your thoughts below.
