Patton Oswalt's Amazing STAR WARS And MARVEL Crossover Movie Can Now Actually Happen

Star Wars, X-Men, and The Avengers all in one film? Back in 2013, one man dreamt it, now it's one step closer to actually happening! Listen to Patton Oswalt's amazing crossover pitch from Parks & Rec.

With Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox's film and TV assets, the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises are returning home to Marvel (which is owned by Disney). There's been plenty of speculation about what this means for those franchises (like the future of Deadpool) and how the purchase will affect the Marvel Cinematic Universe moving forward. But perhaps the most intriguing realization in all of this is that Patton Oswalt's famous Star Wars and Marvel crossover can actually happen now!

Back in 2013, the fan-favorite comedian appeared as Garth Blundin on the Parks and Recreation episode "Article Two." In the episode, Garth attempts to filibuster a local piece of legislation by outline his proposal for Star Wars: Episode VII, which was in production at the time. What proceeded was a lengthy crossover pitch, entirely improvised by Oswalt, that imagined a film with both characters from the Star Wars and Marvel universes colliding in a single movie - made possible by the use of Thanos' Reality Gem.

Can you even imagine characters from Star Wars, The Avengers, and X-Men all in one movie?! Admittedly, the idea is absolutely bonkers and it'll likely never happen, but it's still pretty amazing hearing Oswalt's pitch now because at the time something like this - all three franchises under one umbrella - seemed impossible. Who knows, with Rian Johnson creating a brand new Star Wars trilogy and the MCU entering a new phase, anything is possible!

What would your Star Wars/Marvel crossover movie look like?
