The death of Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens was heartbreaking, and it's a decision many fans of the franchise still hold against director J.J. Abrams. In the video below, the filmmaker sheds some light on Kylo Ren's motivations and why Ben Solo ended up killing his father. Some believe that he was always planning to murder Han, but Abrams confirms that the Sith was in fact conflicted.

Of course, we won't learn more about how Kylo felt about making this fateful decision until Star Wars Episode VIII is released next year. For now, Disney is hoping we'll all fork out for the 3D collector's edition of the movie, especially as it will include this director's commentary. That will no doubt feature a lot of other very interesting behind the scenes reveals and stories like this, so it may be worth it!
