This latest shot from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse features the Vulture, and it's certainly a unique take on the classic Spidey villain!
We first learned that Adrian Toomes would appear in the Into The Spider-Verse sequel last June during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, and we now have a first look at the character via Empire Magazine.
The image features Toomes, who will be voiced by The Lonely Island and Parks and Recs actor Jorma Taccone, doing battle with Oscar Isaac's Miguel O'Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099.
While chatting to the mag, writer-producer Christopher Miller compared this middle chapter in the animated trilogy to The Empire Strikes Back.
“People who’ve seen Across… have told us that it feels like The Empire Strikes Back of the Spider-Verse franchise. It shows you worlds you haven’t seen, and it’s an emotional story that ends in a place where you need to see the third one. So, yeah: this is our Empire.”

In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, after reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Manis catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. However, when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.
The confirmed voice cast includes Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Jason Schwartzman, Daniel Kaluuya, Shea Whigham, Jorma Taccone, Luna Lauren Vélez, and Brian Tyree Henry.
