Some fans (okay, a lot of fans) like to keep the Marvel/DC "rivalry" going by any means possible, so when Suicide Squad director David Ayer responded to a fan yelling "f*ck Marvel" at the movie's premiere by echoing his sentiment, comments sections all across the internet were unsurprisingly ignited.
Of course, the truth is these companies actually have a decent relationship despite what the trolls would have you believe, and Marvel EIC Joe Quesada - no stranger to the odd controversial comment himself - sent out the following Tweet soon after.
Chalk it down to a moment of over-enthusiasm on Ayer's part, that does seem even more misjudged in hindsight.
