Regardless of your feelings on the movie, there's no denying that the response to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice came as a real blow to Warner Bros., and you have to believe that they desperately needed and wanted Suicide Squad to be embraced by fans and critics alike. For all we know, the former group will indeed love the movie - director David Ayer certainly seems to believe that will be the case - but critics have torn into Suicide Squad pretty viciously, with very few of them providing postive scores.
What this means for reports of a record breaking opening weekend now remains to be seen, while talk of some major behind the scenes issues will inevitably be another major PR blow to both Warner Bros. and the DC Films Universe.
