Ezra Miller Explains What The New Director For THE FLASH Will Need To Bring To The Table

Rick Famuyiwa recently parted ways with Warner Bros. over "creative differences," but The Flash star Ezra Miller talks here about what whoever takes over from him will need to bring to the project.

The Flash has now lost two directors due to "creative differences" with Warner Bros., and a week after Rick Famuyiwa issued a statement explaining that he pitched a version of the movie with, "my voice, humor, and heart," Ezra Miller has weighed in on what the next filmmaker to take over will need.

Interestingly, he too mentions heart, something which the TV show has never had an issue with. "I think that the most important quality is the open heart," the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them star tells Cinema Blend. "I think that The Flash has to be a story that is heartfelt. Because I think that’s where the lightning really is." It's a fair point, but possibly not what the studio is hoping for.

Either way, The Flash has now been thrown into disarray and is unlikely to meet its planned release date in 2018. There's been no word on who is being looked at to take over, but given his stellar work on the small screen DC Universe, perhaps Warner Bros. should consider giving Kevin Smith a call?
