During last night's The Bourne Legacy premiere, Vulture caught up with Ransom actress Rene Russo to discuss her reprisal as Frigga in Thor: The Dark World. Recalling most of her scenes being cut from the first Kenneth Branagh-directed Thor movie, Russo also reveals how unfamiliar she is with the character's background.

"You know, they cut me [down] in the first film. Kenneth Branagh sent me a nice note, because he understood, he's an actor. You move on, what are you going to do? But I think they're going to need a good mom in the next film. Loki needs his mom. What the hell?"

Rene Russo was then asked how Frigga might react to the wrongdoing of her adopted stepson, Loki, while on earth causing the big assembly of Marvel's The Avengers. And Russo also makes note of misunderstanding Frigga's background in the comics, and the fact that she's also the stepmother of Thor.

"I have a lot of compassion for [Loki]. But we might have to have a conversation about what he just did,"."And I might have to have a chat with Thor. But I am so confused - is Thor my son or not? People have been telling me recently, 'No, you're not his mother.' It's all so confusing! I got to tell ya, it would be a little embarrassing if I don't know. I need to read more about her."

After Vulture kindly offered to shed light on the character's background, Russo responded: "That would be great! As long as it's not too complicated. I prefer fewer words in my comics! I grew up on Archie!"

Exploring Thor's relationship with the Asgardian all-father Odin, as well earthbound companion Jane Foster, “Thor: The Dark World” follows the God of Thunder to The Nine Realms beyond Asgard and earth. And as his evil half-brother, Loki, returns for Asgardian justice, a new threat rises. Also rejoining Thor are his fellow Asgardians, Lady Sif, gatekeeper Heimdall and Warriors Three, as they encounter mythical Norse creatures among evildoers.

“Thor: The Dark World” stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Jaimie Alexander, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Stellan Skarsgard and Ray Stevenson. And Alan Taylor (“Game of Thrones”) takes over directorial duties from Kenneth Branagh, who helmed the first “Thor” film. With a screenplay by Robert Rodat,“Thor: The Dark World” is set for release on November 8, 2013.
