The fifth episode of Peacemaker season 2, titled "Back to the Suture," just arrived on HBO Max, and it features the long-awaited showdown between Chris Smith and Rick Flag Sr.

We begin with a flashback to Rick Flag Jr.'s funeral, where Emilia Harcourt vowed to make Chris pay for his role in the A.R.G.U.S. agent's death. Their relationship has deepened since then, of course, though we learn that whatever happened on that boat supposedly meant nothing to her because she was drunk.

It means something to Chris, though, and it appears Emilia is bluffing, given that she attempts to help him avoid being captured by A.R.G.U.S. Still, her claim that she doesn't have feelings for him is clearly a blow to the anti-hero.

"Back to the Suture" also reveals that Sasha Bordeaux has cybernetic enhancements (A.R.G.U.S. upgraded her body after a plane crash). Flag Sr.'s weakness for women is referenced—following his fling with Princess Ilana Rostovic in Creature Commandos—when he takes a liking to the agent.

By far the biggest talking point here, beyond Eagley being revealed as the "prime eagle" who kills Red St. Wild in a baffling subplot, is Flag Sr.'s long-awaited confrontation with Peacemaker. He savagely beats the former Task Force X member for murdering his son, but is forced to let him go when John Economos makes sure to log Chris into A.R.G.U.S.'s systems.

When all is said and done, Peacemaker decides he's had enough of the DCU and decides to make a permanent home for himself in the parallel reality. Judomaster manages to follow him (which could be interesting if theories that it's a whites-only world of Nazis are correct), and we later see that Chris, his brother, and father manage to defeat the Kaiju from Superman.

Peacemaker's latest episode ends with Emilia and the 11th Street Kids reuniting to bring Chris home, though they need to figure out how to reach him first...

Peacemaker season 2 follows Chris Smith, the vigilante superhero, as he struggles to reconcile his past with his newfound sense of purpose while continuing to kick righteous evildoer butt in his misguided quest for peace at any cost. He discovers an alternate world where life is everything he wishes it could be. But this discovery also forces him to face his traumatic past and take the future into his own hands.

Season 2 stars John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Frank Grillo, Sol Rodríguez, David Denman, Brey Noelle, and Tim Meadows.

James Gunn wrote all eight episodes of Peacemaker and directed three, including the first episode. Gunn, Peter Safran, and Cena serve as executive producers. Greg Mottola, Peter Sollett, and Alethea Jones also direct.

In our review of Peacemaker season 2, we wrote, "Peacemaker season 2 feels like a wholly superfluous addition to the new DCU, and lacks the stakes and emotion that made season 1 so special. Fortunately, it’s buoyed by some fun surprises for fans and another exceptional turn from John Cena."

Five episodes of Peacemaker season 2 are now streaming on HBO Max.

Haven't thought this season was great, something to watch. I know gunn said the last 3 episodes weren't released for review and he said they were the best of the season. Hoping it gets better. Kinda agreeing with josh's review so far

I don’t even like Kimmel or find him funny but let’s call it what it is

@Floke - apples and oranges bud

Gina was spreading misinformation on twitter like a loser and Disney asked her to stop multiple times before saying [frick] it.

Jimmy was never asked to stop nor should he be cause he didn’t even say anything wrong. Find me a damning clip of what he’s said about Kirk that earns him to be immediately pulled off air because the only thing he did was call out how little Trump actually cares about CK by airing an unedited clip lol

They’re different buddy

@TheLobster -

Where have you been the last 10 years?

Where were you for Don Cherry, Shane Gillis, Rosanne, Tucker Carlson, Tony Hinchcliffe, Tim Allen, or Gina Carano. What about Trump being banned from Twitter or Zukerburg admitting he censored anything the Biden admin wanted him to? Where were you when Obama changed the information act to allow propaganda back in 2013?

NOW you care about censorship? When some loser TV host doesn't play ball with his bosses at ABC? Get the [frick] outta here. You don't want free speech, you just want to police speech you don't like.

@TheLobster - "The MAGA gang (is) desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them"

This doesnt imply the shooter is a MAGA-dude?

Kimmel is a host of a big TV show with millions of viewers, while Gina is an actress that posted antivacc and and made a republican/jews comparision, so yeah you are right.. Not the same.
I dont think Kimmel should have been fired, and Idont think Gina shouldnt have either, and people that labled her a racist and even nazi is just dumb.

@CrimsonComet40 - I love Shane Gillis haha

You’re very much conflating consequences and media censorship buddy. Freedom of speech has always been here (well, until now) but that’s not freedom of consequence.

Had Kimmel said on air “hell yes - I’m so glad that guy is gone!” and threw confetti then I would totally get his ousting but he didn’t do that. He showed an unedited clip of Trump and mentioned how bad the administration was trying to paint the guy as not of their base but guess what.. all signs show he was. Had the right not immediately tried to score political points by saying “THIS IS ON THE LEFT” - then I could wrap my head around the idea a little more even though the party of free speech is really showing they only mean that when it benefits them.. but still.

The hipocrisy is astounding man. Kimmel didn’t do anything actually bad or get warned by his studio to not say X and then he disobeyed that. He’s being censored on purpose and you might like that cause it benefits you and your party but just know this is a REALLY bad precedent if it doesn’t get reversed soon enough and you will see the negative effects as well bud.

Also Tucker getting canned was because Fox News knew they were full of shit about the Dominion voting machines and that’s why they paid almost A BILLION in damages to them and had the legal defense of “we’re not a news station - we’re entertainment” which whould really tell you something.. anyways. Apples and oranges.

@Floke - what part of him saying that is bad? It’s truthful lmao

Oh did the right not immediately within under an hour come out and say “THIS IS ON THE LEFT!”?? Oh wow I must have dreamt that up?

The supposed shooter (I think he’s a patsy personally) comes from a Republican family bud. It doesn’t fit the narrative they were going for. You literally had the sheriff of Utah saying “I pray it’s not one of us because that will make this easier”

So what do you think Kimmel said that’s so wrong here?

Also that clip of Trump being asked about CK and immediately going into talking about things to boost his ego shows true colors. That should be the outrage not “omg Kimmel pointed out something factually correct and used a clip to show how our president doesn’t actually give a shit”

The party of free speech are really willing to bend the knee when it comes to their interest and I’m kind of surprised at how quickly they did. The mental gymnastics are insane lol

@TheLobster - Robinson's mother told prosecutors that her son had become more political over the last year and had started to lean more to the left, becoming more pro-LGBT rights-oriented and growing "increasingly radicalized and isolated" in the process.[18] Robinson was registered to vote but not affiliated with any party, and there is no record of him voting in Washington County (of which St. George is the county seat).[19]

On September 14, Governor Spencer Cox said that Robinson had very different political views from those of his conservative family and clearly adhered to "leftist ideology".[20][21][22] Robinson's roommate was reported to be transgender and in a romantic relationship with Robinson.[23][24]

Guess Kimmel know him better than his mom but whatever. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Going way off topic with this. No point in going on.
McMurdo
McMurdo - 9/19/2025, 11:39 AM
@TheLobster - There’s no law or FCC rule that says a late night host must be removed for offensive comments buddy. This was a corporate decision driven by pressure and risk management, not a legal requirement.

If ABC had refused to act, other affiliates could have followed, reducing the show’s reach and ad revenue. That alone woulda forced Disney’s hand.

@TheLobster - brother the roommates entire shoe print is all over x. He linked his IG tik tok etc to his public fb profile and use the same screen name for his reddit and steam accounts. His posts on reddit are everywhere on X. So you'd have to buy that this maga kid moved in with someone who he completely disagrees with ideologically if you believe he was some groyper who shot kirk because he wasnt conservative enough. His family being right wing is irrelevant. My brothers are marxists and my parents are trump supporters. Kids go the total opposite of there parents all the time.

So the “perfect” timeline is not the same timeline as “Superman” the current film. Unless there are more than one of the same Kaiju . So most likely there is another is another timeline that matches.

That was, to me, the weakest episode so far. Felt like it was missing energy or dynamism.
Only saved by Adrian and his human reaction to the loss of what he considers to be his best friend.

Have they lost the Vigilante costume or what?
