New SUPERGIRL Promo Gives Us An Inadvertently Comical First Look At Brainiac-5

A new promo for Supergirl has been released and it offers up a first look at Brainiac-5. Unfortunately, the member of the Legion of Superheroes looks a tad comical and you can find out why after the jump.

One of the most exciting things about Supergirl season three is the impending arrival of the Legion of Superheroes. While it's unlikely we're going to see the entire team (at least not immediately), Brainiac-5 is on the way to The CW series and you can get a first look at Jesse Rath in the role in this promo.

While he definitely looks like Brainiac, he doesn't bear much of a resemblance to Brainiac-5 and he's neither green-skinned nor blonde. Three lights have been added to his forehead too and the overall design ends up looking somewhat comical and I'm sure you won't struggle to make some comparisons to other popular (and silly) pop culture characters. Maybe his look will be improved as time passes!

Despite this, Supergirl season three has been firing on all cylinders and the Legion showing up is definitely good news. What do you guys think? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the usual place.
