5 STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS Characters That Are Ready For A Live-Action Interpretation

Let's take a look at five fan-favourite characters from Dave Filoni’s excellent Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated TV series and movie that I believe are more than ready for live-action versions...

During its six-season run, Star Wars: The Clone Wars brought us a variety of new characters. The creators explored Dathomir, where we saw the Magick-welding Nightsisters, and their counterparts the Nightbrothers.  There was a storyline on Mon Cala where we got to see battles between the Quarren and Mon Calamari. The mysterious “The Ones” - a Father, Son and Daughter on the planet Mortis - were a collection of deities that were unlike anything else in the series.

The show added a large amount to the lore of Star Wars, so here is a shortlist of five character’s I would like to see appear in a live-action movie.

5) Hondo Ohnaka
Although sometimes troublesome, Hondo had the ability to add some needed levity. He has been a staple for Dave Filoni in both The Clone Wars and Rebels. I wouldn’t want to see Hondo be a main character in a movie, but a small cameo, perhaps in a seedy bar, would be a nice nod to the fans.

4) Ahsoka Tano
Ahsoka was a character who definitely needed time to grow. When first introduced in the 2008 movie, she was often annoying, but looking back, she has come a long way. From her final episodes on The Clone Wars, to her battle with Darth Vader in Rebels, she has matured into a complex individual with conflicting morals.

3) Quinlan Vos
This choice is a little bit of a cheat, since Quinlan Voss already appeared on Mos Espa in The Phantom Menace. I still think it would be nice to see this character get some real screen time, and even make him more like with the version we see in the Dark Horse comics.  His spin-off novel with the character below was entertaining, but left me yearning for more.

2) Asajj Ventress
The novel Dark Disciple gave Star Wars fans a new perspective on Ventress. During the series and the accompanying book, we learn about her dark past, including slavery and he life as an assassin. The Nightsisters are a curious part of Star Wars canon, but a mention or even an allusion to them probably won’t happen.

1) Cad Bane
This Dave Filoni creation is my favorite. The character design is great, especially the blue skin, the wide-brimmed hat and the breathing tubes. His robotic voice is also intimidating, and he can hold his own in a fight. We don’t know too much about Bane, which might be why he is still so interesting and prime for a live-action adaptation.
