WONDER WOMAN: You Can Now Read The Script For Joss Whedon's Aborted Take On The Amazon Warrior

Joss Whedon spent years trying to make his Wonder Woman movie a reality, and with a different version just weeks away, The Avengers director's take has now leaked online in its entirety...

Long before Joss Whedon entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator tried and failed to get a Wonder Woman movie off the ground for Warner Bros. He joined the project in 2005 and spent years writing the screenplay only to be met by constant resistance from studio execs who were for some reason against the idea of releasing a superhero movie featuring a female lead.

Not much has ever been revealed about Whedon's take beyond the fact that it would have featured Diana Prince fighting alongside Steve Trevor in the present day, but the script has now appeared online.

There appear to be some similarities with the Wonder Woman movie being released next month, but rather than taking on Ares, the God of War, the Amazon warrior instead squares off with Strife, the Goddess of Chaos. I've only had chance to have a quick look through, but it makes for an interesting read so feel free to check it out below before letting us know your thoughts in the comments section.

Wow, Imagine a Cinematic universe kicking off with Wonder Woman. I wonder how it would have gone and who else would have played Batman and SUperman?

I remember Joss wanted Priyanka Chopra as Wonder Woman.

I've been wanting to read this script for years. I'm kind of fascinated with comic book movies that might have been.

People say it was bad, but now I can finally judge it for myself.
