Epic New Concept Art For Bryan Singer's X-MEN 3 Features Alternate 'Phoenix' Designs
Before Superman Returns caught his attention, Bryan Singer was set to helm X-Men 3 (a.k.a. X-Men: The Last Stand). The job ultimately went to Brett Ratner, but based on these concepts for Jean Grey/The Phoenix, we really missed out on something special...
Thanks to Universo X-Men, we have some concept art from what Bryan Singer's take on "The Dark Phoenix Saga" would have looked like had he not chosen to helm Superman Returns instead of X-Men 3. Writer Simon Kinberg has expressed his regret over how the movie turned out (especially as it's one of his favourite story arcs), and it seems clear that Singer's version would have been far superior to what Brett Ratner came up with in the short amount of time he had to prepare when he boarded the project following Matthew Vaughn's last-minute departure. These designs and the level of destruction are vastly superior to what we ended up getting in the final movie, and I strongly recommend heading on over to the site by clicking on the link below for more concept art!
