Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania kicks off Marvel Studios' Phase 5, though the movie's place in the MCU timeline is a little different from its predecessors. Both Ant-Man and Ant-Man and The Wasp were released following huge Avengers movies, offering a breather for fans who had just witnessed the intensity of Age of Ultron and Infinity War.

Talking to Total Film, franchise producer Stephen Broussard says, "Coming after the Avengers movies, phrases like ‘palate cleanser’ had been thrown around about the Ant-Man movies...[we felt] if we’re getting a chance at part three, we want the film to be big and feel central to the future of the MCU."

Based on what we know about the threequel, it most definitely will be, as Kang the Conqueror will finally make his presence felt in order to be established as The Multiverse Saga's big bad.

"He is very powerful, very formidable, very strong, and will have, obviously, an ongoing presence, à la Thanos in the stories, going forward in ways that are different from Thanos and feel very fresh to us," Broussard teases.

As for the Quantum Realm, which you can see in the newly released still below featuring Scott Lang and his daughter, Cassie, the producer adds: "It feels like a place you haven’t been to before in the MCU, full of people and characters and worlds and politics and history."

In Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is set to be released in theaters on February 17, 2023.
