Roy Thomas is one of the most famous names in the history of Marvel Comics. He was the first to take over from Stan 'The Man' Lee as Marvel editor-in-chief, and presided over some of the most significant and impactful stories in the history of the company. He also introduced several important characters into the Marvel Universe, most notably Ultron and Hank Pym's semi-villainous alter-ego Yellowjacket. And now, in a piece for the Hollywood Reporter, he's discussed his feelings on Marvel's new Ant-Man movie, and by the sounds of it, he loved it!

'It's hard to imagine a better blending of old Ant-Man and new,' he said, complimenting the dramatic contrast between Michael Douglas and Paul Rudd as Hank Pym and Scott Lang. He also commented on one of the most controversial deviations from the comics- the transferral of the Yellowjacket identity from Pym to the villain Darren Cross, one that he certainly seems to have been a fan of! In his piece, he said that, 'I prefer the film's rendition of Yellowjacket to any that I or others since me have developed.' He also compared the creative process at Marvel Studios, led by Kevin Fiege, to that which went on backstage at Marvel Comics in the 60s and 70s when he and several others shaped the Marvel Universe. And as for a potential sequel? According to Thomas, what's really needed is a Giant-Man movie! Leave your thoughts below.
