Deadline reveal that AMC Theatres have sold out of advance tickets for "The Ultimate Marvel Marathon"; a May 3rd event which will feature all six Marvel Studios movies before the midnight release of The Avengers in RealD 3D. Despite the $40 price tag and bum numbing length, this didn't stop fans from making the planned event a huge success (AMC will now be adding even more shows at participating locations). Beginning at 11.30am with Iron Man, it will then be followed by The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger and finally Marvel’s The Avengers. Are you going? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.

STARRING:

Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America
Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man
Chris Hemsworth as Thor
Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye
Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Ramanoff/Black Widow
Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk
Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury
Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson
Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill
Tom Hiddleston as Loki

RELEASE DATE: April 26th, 2012. (UK) May 4th, 2012. (US)

I should be seeing The Avengers (Avengers Assemble?!) next Friday. However, as cool as this is, I'm really not sure I could watch all of these in one sitting!

Well damn that's a good start. There seems to be a huge demand to match that hype which is good.

There is not a single franchise that would make me want to sit in a movie theater for the better part of the day. Still the craziest one was when they showed all the Harry Potter movies in a row, before the release of the last one.

That bodes very well for the movie. I suspect it's going to break a few records over the weekend. The box office has been on fire in general throught the first three months, and this being the first big movie of the summer, I just think it will set a record for Midnight gross and for weekend gross, IMO.

I would've so bought a ticket, but I have no AMC, that's not apart of a small mall. I'll have to stick with my friends get-together then see the movie at midnight IMAX 3D!

If I could smoke (whatever the hell I wanted) and there were an AMC nearby (like within a couple hundred miles) I would go for that. Good to hear they have sold out, I have already seen all 5 movies a bazillion times (and the Spider-Man trilogy in case he makes a cameo - jk) so I won't cry to much about missing the marathon.

I can't even watch all three extended edition LOTR films. I would go crazy sitting in there. I'll watch the films at home, day by day up until the release.
