The Penguin Star Cristin Milioti Reveals Whether She'll Return For The Batman Part II (Exclusive)

Talking to us about her role in Buddy, Emmy Award winner Cristin Milioti reveals whether she'll reprise her role as Sofia Gigante (née Falcone) in Matt Reeves' The Batman Part II.

In the season finale of The Penguin, Oz Cobb ended his feud with Sofia Gigante by exposing her role in the destruction of Crown Point and ensuring "The Hangman" is returned to Arkham.

Back in captivity, Sofia receives a letter from her half-sister, Selina Kyle, the vigilante who we first saw suit up as Catwoman in 2022's The Batman. With that, the stage is set for the two women to meet, but with no current plans for The Penguin Season 2, fans are hoping their story will continue in Matt Reeves' upcoming sequel to The Batman, 2028's The Batman Part II

Cristin Milioti won a Primetime Emmy Award, a Critics' Choice Award, and a Saturn Award for her critically acclaimed performance as Sofia Falcone in the HBO series. Now, she can be seen in Buddy, which opens in theaters this Friday, August 28.

During our conversation with the actress about her role in the offbeat horror movie, we asked Milioti whether, with The Batman Part II now filming in Glasgow, Scotland, there's a chance she'll return as Sofia.

"There's not a chance you'll see me in it, sadly," she replied. "But I wait. You know, I would go back to that world in a heartbeat."

It's a shame that, for now at least, Sofia's story is on pause. However, Colin Farrell is only expected to appear in a few scenes in The Batman Part II, and Zoë Kravitz's Catwoman isn't set to show up at all, so chances are Reeves will revisit these characters in a bigger way down the line.

We'll be bringing you our full interview with Milioti soon. In it, she talks about how working on a surreal project like Buddy compares to The Penguin and Black Mirror, her scenes with Topher Grace, what in the script drew her interest, and more.

Remember Buddy, the bright orange unicorn and star of that classic children's television show who brought joy and life lessons into your living room? Inside the colourful world of "It's Buddy!", a group of children spend their days singing, dancing, and helping Buddy spread happiness.

However, when one child refuses to play along, Buddy is not pleased, and cracks begin to appear in this seemingly perfect world.

That's the premise of Buddy, the new horror movie from Casper Kelly (Aqua Teen Hunger ForceMandy). He co-wrote the script with Jamie King, and the impressive cast includes Cristin Milioti, Delaney Quinn, Tristan Borders, Madison Skyy Polan, Caleb "CJ" Williams, Luke Speakman, Patton Oswalt as Strappy, Clint Howard as George, Michael Shannon as Willie, with Topher Grace and Keegan-Michael Key as Buddy.

Buddy is only in theaters on August 28.
