SPOILERS: SECRET EMPIRE #2 Featured A Return Guaranteed To Annoy And Confuse You

Secret Empire #2 featured a lot of big twists and turns after the ramifications of Steve Rogers' actions in the last issue started being felt, and while he claimed not to be directly responsible for Rick Jones' execution and the destruction of Las Vegas, things just got a whole lot more confusing in the series.

In the final few pages, we suddenly get an artist change and are taken to an undisclosed location and an unknown time. There, we see a woman being pursued by the Serpent Society (a sign, perhaps, that this is the present day) through the woods. She's saved by a haggard man wearing a World War II uniform who declares himself to be Steve Rogers and says
that, "I’m just trying to get home."

Wait, what?! We have no idea what's going on here, but there are now a fair few fan theories doing the rounds. The most popular
is that Captain America has somehow been split in two and this is the "good" version of the hero. Another is that the Cosmic Cube somehow replaced the original Steve Rogers and that the one currently ruling over America on behalf of Hydra is an imposter or clone of some sort.

My theory? This could be the Ultimate Captain America who is now part of the new Marvel Universe.

We'll just have to wait and see, but feel free to share your theories in the comments section below.
