Thanks to Luma Pictures we now have an awesome new VFX breakdown that showcases how all of the creative artists made Thanos’ lively appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy. Check out the video below!
Luma Pictures VFX supervisor Vincent Cirelli explained to all how the concept designer did his part and how they all carefully worked on Thanos to make him awesome for all the moviegoers to see. “Loic Zimmermann our concept designer took the most prevalent features of Josh that we thought would stand out the most and put them into who the character is underneath,” He then elaborated and described in depth on what they did to make Thanos come to life in the film. “He began blending those elements. We’ve taken Josh’s eyes, some of his cheek, how his muscles move when he talks and blended that into his caricature.” He then added, “Thanos has this incredibly large jaw and deep grooves that run throughout his face which needed to be carefully planned out with the movement of his face.”
