Summer is in full swing and our friends at SwimWays and Kelsyus were kind enough to send over some of their newest Marvel and Star Wars licensed products to review!
I recruited a few "younglings" and promptly headed to the local pool to put them through their paces. Find out what we thought in the video below!
The "Dive Characters" are very well done, considering they're pool/water toys, and their retail price point isn't bad either ($16.99 for a pack of 3 figures). I wouldn't throw them up on my shelf with my Sideshow collection, but they're pretty cool for what they are. I thought they would be more popular with the kids than they actually were, especially since we had both Infinity War and The Last Jedi divers (Kids these days, right?!).
Unfortunately for the dive toys, the force was strong with BB-8. Not even the Captain America Inflatable Pool Bop could stand against him. The kids spent most of the afternoon with BB-8, whether it was floating on him, jumping off of him, or battling one another for possession of the beloved droid. The BB-8 Oversized Inflatable Pool Float is the most expensive item of the bunch, retailing for $39.99, but it's also the only pool toy that the kids are STILL taking to the pool with them.
All of these great pool toys and floats are available at SwimWays.com, as well as many of your favorite offline and online retailers. Keep an eye out for the "Dive Rings" and Disney licensed products, especially if you have little princesses running around the house!
About The Author:
ComicBookMovie.com and Best Little Sites was the brainchild of Nate and a friend way back in 2002. Nate initially focused on the back-end programming and front-end design, but now manages the company and its associated sites as well, with a LOT of help from some very talented contributors.
Nate has loved comics from a very young age and continues to read them on a regular basis thanks to subscriptions to various titles (both Marvel and DC). He also loves movies, as his wife and children will attest. He's not overly critical of movies, so his reviews should be taken with a grain of salt as he's much more interested in being entertained and escaping the "real" world for a couple of hours than finding every conceivable plot-hole and character flaw in a film.
Outside of his guilty "nerdy" pleasures, Nate enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys, CrossFit, playing guitar, coaching youth sports and MMA (he spent a couple of years in the cage as an NHB fighter, but is now MUCH too old).
