Nickelodeon's most beloved sponge will take a dive into our world in The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. At Paramount's San Diego Comic-Con panel, they revealed the first still from the upcoming sequel, which sees the show's four main characters - Spongebob Squarepants, Patrick Star, Squidward Tentacles and Mr. Krabs - as superheroes attempting to defend their beloved Bikini Bottom. Long-time voice actor Tom Kenny describes it as "a bold new world where no Sponge has gone before. I'm still getting used to it. You've seen someone in a certain way for so long... It's just really different." The new looks will come later into the movie, according to director Paul Tibbit. "It's the big climax of the movie. They all come to shore in our world. And they transform themselves into an Avengers-type team to do battle. Their world is in jeopardy." Antonio Banderas (Shrek, The Mask of Zorro) will play the central antagonist, villainous pirate. The film hits theatres February 6th, 2015.
