1: The Gorn also appeared in the mirror universe Enterprise episodes.

2: They clearly used the Gorn because it's easier to get away with shooting monsters than people.

@BackwardGalaxy

I disagree with your second point as to the reasons behind putting the Gorn in instead of another species. Shooting humans or near-human looking aliens has never stopped movie tie-in games.

I personally think they used the Gorn because visually there's a lot to work with, and they've never really been explored further in the series than two episodes.

I thought the Gorn were very well fleshed out in the book Prime Directive.

I'm clinging on to hope, that this game doesn't suck and get bad reviews. If it gets lower than a 7/10 then I won't bother.

the Gorn look pretty cool though - glad they've spent the time on making multiple versions

One of the greatest episodes of Trek was the two-part Enterprise episode, "In a Mirror Darkly." Two reasons for this was that we finally got to see what a Tholian looked like and we got to see a modern version of the Gorn (but there are so many other reasons). These are two vastly underused Trek villains.

@SyamAgsa I've always looked at Mass Effect as an R-Rated version of Star Trek...Just sayin.

@beane2099: We saw a Tholian in the TOC episode, the "Tholian Webb."
