Spider-Man: Brand New Day - Rosario Dawson Opens Up About Her Cut Scene: "I'm A Reject Of Spider-Man!"

Rosario Dawson has commented on filming a scene as Claire Temple for Spider-Man: Brand New Day that ultimately wound up on the cutting room floor...

We had heard that Spider-Man: Brand New Day was set to feature a cameo from Rosario Dawson's Claire Temple, aka Night Nurse, relatively early on in the movie's production, but the character was nowhere to be seen in the final cut.

Dawson has previously confirmed that she did indeed film a scene as Temple alongside Tom Holland's Peter Parker, and we now have some quotes from her recent appearance at GalaxyCon.

“I tell you my post was already ready with my BTS, with my grandson wearing all his Spider-Man stuff cause he loves Spider-Man. Then I got the email, so yeah, I'm a reject of Spider-Man and I'm a reject of the Devil's Rejects.”

A couple of things to note here: Rosario Dawson is a grandmother(?), and also had a scene cut from Rob Zombie's 2005 horror flick, The Devil's Rejects.

Rumors initially claimed that the scene in question involved Temple treating Spidey after he was accidentally shot by Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) in the final act, but writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers recently revealed that Claire actually encountered Peter much earlier on after his battle with Scorpion.

"Rosario Dawson is great. I wasn’t there for those discussions. But it was great," McKenna said. "If anything, you have a movie that is two-and-a-half hours long, and it’s almost an embarrassment of riches with so many great characters and so many great scenes."

Sommers added, "The scene they did was a good scene. I think the only reason it’s not in the final cut was just that it was probably cut for time because it was very good."

It's a shame that Dawson's scene didn't make the theatrical release of BND, but there's always a chance it will show up on the Blu-ray.

Also, we wouldn't be surprised if Clare eventually made her official MCU debut via Daredevil: Born Again or another planned Disney+ series.

Following the record-breaking success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Brand New Day begins a brand new chapter for Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult and living alone after erasing himself and the memories of him from those he loves. In a New York that no longer knows his name, he has devoted himself wholeheartedly to protecting his city as Spider-Man full-time.

But as the demands on him grow, he is put under increasing pressure. This triggers an unexpected physical change that threatens his existence, while a strange wave of crime emerges - and gives rise to one of the most dangerous threats he has ever faced.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers. The film is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad and Rachel O'Connor. The cast includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now in theaters.

Would have connected Spidey to the street level shows more which is needed. Yelena was just there to say Avengers and promote Doomsday.

Honestly. The most shocking thing in this article is that Rosario Dawson is a grandmother..
