Not much revealing information here, but it is worth sharing that Michael Rooker, who played Merle Dixon in three episodes of The Walking Dead, confirmed his return to the show in the upcoming third season, which has also the presence of David Morrissey as The Governor confirmed. This information comes from Daily Dead Kirstian Hanson, who is covering WonderCon for them, and he has let them know that Rooker announced his return as the character during the Lollipop Chainsaw panel.

Michael Rooker didn't revealed much details, but he did mentioned that he lost 20 lbs for the role. Now, with the upcoming season set to have the prison and Governor storyline, what are your thoughts on how Merle will return to the show?

The Season Finale of The Walking Dead will be airing tonight at AMC, and the third season of the show will start shooting in May, with 16 episodes planned.
