Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is currently shooting in New York, and some major spoilers have just hit social media. Mike Colter and Finn Jones have both been spotted on set, confirming that we're getting a Heroes for Hire reunion as Luke Cage and Iron Fist make their official MCU debuts.
The duo was spotted alongside Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) and Deborah Ann-Woll (Karen Page), confirming that the Defenders will finally reassemble when the series returns to our screens next year.
Pre-overhaul, Daredevil: Born Again was going to be a completely clean break for the Man Without Fear, meaning we would have probably never seen Colter, Jones, and Ritter (along with Punisher actor Jon Bernthal) back in their respective Marvel roles. Fortunately, showrunner Dario Scardapane is paying attention to what fans want, but what should we expect from the MCU's Heroes for Hire?
Luke Cage and Iron Fist both wrapped up on cliffhangers and left their respective leads in desperate need of redemption thanks to some questionable creative decisions. Based on what Scardapane has done thus far with Daredevil: Born Again, we can likely expect to see a take on these two that's far more in line with the comics.
Jones, in particular, has talked about wanting another chance to play Danny Rand, and Marvel Studios first toyed with the idea of doing something with the Iron Fist concept in Marvel Animation's Eyes of Wakanda.
All that's left now is for Elektra, Misty Knight, and Colleen Wing to follow, though whether there's room for their respective stories in Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 remains to be seen.
Another big spoiler from the set has confirmed what we suspected after watching the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer: Sheila Rivera is the new Mayor of New York City, meaning Wilson Fisk's reign will end in Season 2. The question now is, where is The Kingpin?
Check out these new photos from the Season 3 set of Daredevil: Born Again in the X posts below:
In Daredevil: Born Again, survival, resistance and redemption collide as the battle for the soul of New York begins. In Season 2, Mayor Wilson Fisk crushes New York City underfoot as he hunts down public enemy number one, the Hell’s Kitchen vigilante known as Daredevil.
But beneath the horned mask, Matt Murdock will try to fight back from the shadows to tear down the Kingpin’s corrupt empire and redeem his home. Resist. Rebel. Rebuild.
Created by Dario Scardapane, Chris Ord and Matt Corman, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 stars Charlie Cox as the titular masked vigilante (aka Matt Murdock) and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk.
"A brutal, relentless tour-de-force, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is a Marvel masterstroke that sees Charlie Cox take the Man Without Fear to unprecedented heights, delivering the definitive take on Daredevil," we said in our 8-episode review published last week.
Daredevil: Born Again is now streaming weekly on Disney+.
